I Our Pledge To The Citizens Of Omaha
YOUR SEVEN FRIENDS FOR COUNCIL
On April 2nd your Seven Friends of the Charter are
looking to you as a voter and one interested in the progress
of Omaha to vote for them as candidates for the City Council.
As you look over their platform you can see that they qualify
themselves as individuals interested in the welfare of all
rather than a few. Particularly is this group concerned with
the sections of the New Charter designed to aid persons re
gardless of race, creed or color to secure employment, par
ticipate in the government of the city, enjoy rights, privileges
of civic and social life. These Seven Friends are N. Phil
Dodge, James J. Dworak, Mrs. Kenneth T. Graham, Sam W.
Reynolds, Wray M Scott, A. V. (Al) Sorensen and Harry Trus
tin. Five of the seven candidates were members of the Char
ter Convention, which drew up the city’s new charter. Natural
ly these Seven Candidates believe the voters of Omaha would
appreciate having Seven Persons who are pledged whole
heartedly to carry out the mandates of the City Charter. Your
Lucky Number is Seven on Tuesday April 2nd Vote for the

greater efficiency in the operation of our city government We
enthusiastically support the financial provisions of the new
charter and pledge to keep taxes to a minimum.
WE BELIEVE
city government under the new charter, properly administer
ed, will create a better community environment so necessary
to attract new industry to Omaha.
WE PLEDGE
to use the influence of effective city government to bring new
industries to Omaha, thereby creating more payrolls and jobs,
spreading the tax load, and continuing opportunities for our
young people.
WE BELIEVE
I city government under the new charter, properly administer
ed, will make Omaha a better, safer place in which to work, to
live and to raise our families.
WE PLEDGE
constant viligance in maintaining high standards im every phase
of city government in our fast-growing city.

Omaha citizens approved the new city charter.
But the job is only half done. Now it must be
put into operation. Let's Finish the Job. The 7
Friends KNOW the charter. Vote for ALL SEVEN
of these business - experienced, civic - minded
candidates for the city council.
The 7 FRIENDS of the CHARTER were drafted
by the CITIZENS CHARTER COMMITTEE to FIN
ISH THE JOB. This committee represents a group
of citizens who worked for the adoption of the
charter and are interested in seeing it properly
established. The committee is headed by Mrs.
Paul Gallagher, honorary chairman; Lloyd Matt
son, chairman; Robert Samardick, treasurer. Vice
chairmen are Gerald Collins, Howard Drew, Will
iam F. Fitzgerald, H. Fred Jacobberger and Einar
Viren.
