Kenneth M. Pollard, Sr., age
50 years, formerly of Omaha, ex
pired Sunday morning July 1,
1956 in Oakland, California.
He had been a resident of Oak
land for over 15 years.
Prior to leaving Omaha, Mr.
Pollard was at one time President
of the Baccanite Social Club and
was the 2nd Negro to be employed
as a route salesman for the Omar
Bakeries.
He was a former member of St.
John A.M.E. Church.
Mr. Pollard is survived by his
son, Kenneth M. Pollard, Jr.;
daughter, Mrs. Beverly Jean
Lemon, both of Omaha.
Funeral services were held
Thursday July 5, 1956 at 2:00 p.m.
from the Myers Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. F. C. Williams
officiating, assisted by Rev. S. H.
Lewis. Interment was at Forest
Lawn Cemetery.

SAN FRANCISCO, July 5.—
The 48th annual convention of
the National Association for the
Advancement of Colored People
will be held in Detroit next June.
Delegates to the San Francisco
convention chose Cleveland as
the site of the 49th annual con
vention to be held in 1958. De
troit was named for 1957 last
year at Atlantic City where the
NAACP held its 46th annual con
ference.
