SGT. LEWIS HOLLIDAY has
returned to the states after 3
years service in France. His wife
and son, Clarence, who have been
living in Omaha, recently visited
in Chicago, Detroit and Mississip
pi. While in Omaha they wor
shipped with the Paradise Baptist
Church, where they are members.
Sgt. Holliday is now stationed in
Ft. Carson, Colorado Springs,
Colorado. Mrs. Holliday and son
have spent the week in Omaha |
getting ready to leave on August
31st for Colorado Springs, Colo,
where they will make their home.

LAKE ST. has returned from a
trip through Kansas. Mr. Halvor
Miller and 4-year-old son of Chi
cago, 111., a cousin of Mrs. Bur
ton motored to the city to pick
up Mrs. Burton. He was accom
panied by his mother and sister
of California. Their trip through
Kansas was very pleasant. They
stopped in Kansas City, Mo.; High
land, Kansas; White Cloud, Kan.
and Atchison, Kan. She met a
half sister that she did not know
'she had. In Highland, Mrs. Bur
ton’s home town, they attended
the Old Settlers Reunion. She es
pecially enjoyed visiting in the
homes of her many old friends.
In the evening a big picnic din
ner was spread in the park. They
met and visited with friends that
had known them all their life,
some of them they had not seen
for many years. They plan to at
tend the reunion each year.

Mrs. Henry Smith, and a son
lives at 2570 Evans. While in
Indianapolis, Mrs. Fitzpatrick at
tended the Bethel A. M. E.
Church. Dr. James, Pastor, sent
regards to all in Omaha whom he
knows.

ing dates of Lincoln University
center around Tuesday, September
13, the day of registration for all
students for the fall term.
The orientation program, a pre
college conference and convocation
of officers, teachers and other em
ployees constitute the significant
activities scheduled prior to regis
tration. In addition to the regu
lar full time students, those inter
ested in late afternon and evening
classes will also register on Sept
tember 13th.

ROAD MAPS READY
FOR DISTRIBUTION
State Engineer, L. R. Ress, an
nounced this week that copies of
the map showing the State High
way System as adopted by the 1955
Legislature are now available for
public distribution.
These maps may be obtained at
no charge by writing The Informa
tion Section, Department of Roads
and Irrigation, State House, Lin
coln, Nebraska.
The map indicates the State
Highway System which will be
come the responsibility of the De
partment of Roads and Irrigation
on September 18, 1955.
In addition to the highways in
dicated on the map the Depart
ment must maintain the presently
maintained State Highway System
until July 1, 1956.

The programs, which are a pub
lic service presentation of the
