Gloria Jean Ward, 8 yiejai's was also taken into the church. Sermon was from St. Luke 5:507. Theme: Fulfillment of a Promise. A promise is that which one says he will do to ful fill that promise is to see to it that the promise is carried out. Heaven and earth will pass away Even though Jesus was gone; He kept all his promises. Mrs. Chaney, Mrs. Hunt, and Mrs. Averette joined our mem.1 bershihip today. We are very happy to have them with us. There were 17 visitors in ou service. We want you to always feel at home. Let us pray fo*' the shutins always. Rev. The latter has somewhat the same power as the president of the United States. UPSETTING THE BAJJWNCE ft^MACKBNZIl HOPE LUTHERAN CHURCH 30th & Corby H. H. Schauland, Pastor A misionary asked a young con. vert, "How long have you known the lord?’’ “Three months", he replied. The pastor continued. ‘ And how many have you led to Jesus since you have known Him?" “Oh*’ said the convert, “I am only a beginner.’’ The miss ionary then asked him. “Do you use candles in your home?" “Yes’ was the reply. “Do you expect the candles to began to shine when it is burned half-way down? “No, as soon as it is lit.’’ At once the convert caught himselm; he saw the lesson and went to work. Within six months several of his friends and neighbors were saved To every American ''hristian God says:: “How many have YOU led to Christ?" Every unchurch ed person in this country is a challenge to us. God has blessed our nation in such a way so that we can meet that challenge. In this last war God gave America the victory because in America lie the ossibilities for evangeliz ing the world. America has only 6 per cent of the world’s popu lation, but has 70 per cetnt of the world’s automobiles, HO per cent of the world’s telephones. 45 per cent of the world's radios. 34 per cent of the world’s rail roads, 51 per cent of the world’s rubber, 62 per cent of the world’s oil, 50 per cent of the worlds cotton, 30 per cent of the world’s iron. JCt is by far the richest nation on the face of the earth. > - Jesus paid: “When thou art converted* Strengthen thy bre. thren.’’ Let us all first become firmly grounded in the Word of God purselves by daily IJible reading and regular church at tendance, and then soul-winning will become second ature with us. Hope Lutheran invites you to attend its services. You are also urged to listen to the stirr. ing sermons of Dr Maier on the Lutheran Hour over KBON every Sunday at 11:30 a. m.
