To Our Readers:
We wish to take this opportunity to inform our readers
that this Contest; sponsored by The Omaha Guide and The
AMVETS’ Post No. II, was conceived purely for the purpose
of “Glorifying Our Young Womanhood, and to stimulate
the interest of our younger set.”
This Contest should have a definite part in the life of
your community, and should have the active support of
every Social and Civic Organization.
The Omaha Guide and The AMVETS wish to invite all
other organizations and individuals to join in making this
1st Annual affair a success, in order to establish a precedent
for such an affair to which our group may look forward to
each year and which it is hoped may encourage others.
With the advent of this Contest, the Omaha Guide and
The AMVETS, mark a milestone in endeavor. A vowed pur
pose to make this one long to be remembered.
But that is only half the story. To assure the perman
ency of this venture, we must have the active help and coop
eration of the whole community. There is only one way
you can help, and that is by picking a Candidate and Voting.
Boston, Chicago, Pittsburgh, New York and several other
large cities, have concluded successful contests. Surely
that should be an added stimulus to us.
The Omaha Guide and The AMVETS are proud to be co
sponsors of such a worthwhile undertaking.
To make this Contest a success, entails hardwork and in
itiative. This venture can be just as successful as we make
it, and we need the publicity and favorable public opinion,
and prestige that will come to Our City, through it. It
seemes safe to predict that the needed community-wide as
sisance, will be forhconiing.
The advantages, both temporary and permanent, to be de
rived from it, are such that it should appeal to all of us.
