Services were held Thursday after
noon from Clair Chapel Methodist
Church with Rev. C. C. Reynolds
officiating with burial at Forest Lawn
cemetery.

Mr. Richard Britt of Higginsville,
Mo., who had been to Des Moines,
IowTa, stopped off in Omaha to pay a
visit to his brother, Dr. L. E. Bntt,
of 2534 Hamilton. He looked very
well and prosperous and reports that
crop conditions in Missouri are good.
Mr. and Mrs. Hill of 3113 Corby
St. have a family of 8 children, 4
girls and 4 boys. All working. It is
reported that they will go fishing on
next Friday. They are expecting to
have a good time.

Miss Rozella Thomas, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Thomas of 2874
Maple St. arrived home from the
Lincoln School of Nursing, New York
City to spend her vacation with her
parents.

One of the duties of the air trans
port command chaplains is meeting
the many hospital planes that fly
from the battlefronts to hospitals
and rest camps back in the United
States. In all kinds of weather and
at all hours of the day and night,
the ATC chaplain is on hand with
the flight surgeon and nurse to serve
the spiritual needs of the wounded
men and wish them Godspeed to
the next stop on their journey
homeward.

Mrs. Euia Gilliam, age 58, diec
Sunday evening after an extended
illness at her home, 2724 Ohio St.
She had lived in this community 20
j years and was a cateress and served
some of the best families of Omaha,
j Mrs. Gilliam was a faithful worker in
| Clair Chapel Methodist Church and
served in various offices in the church.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs.
Marie Robinson, one of Omaha’s pop
ular beauticians, a son, Mr. Vernon
Meredith, Fort Worth, Texas; five
sisters, Mrs. L. N. Bums, Austin,
Texas, Mrs. Frances Merida, Los An
geles, Calif., Mrs. Lettie Robinson,
' Marin City, California, Mrs. O. R.
Lott, Austin, Texas, Mrs. Corrine Ben
nett, Los Angeles, California, three
brothers, Mr. Frank Madison, Fort
Worth, Texas, Mr. Harry Madison,
Austin, Texas, Mr. Charles Madison,
St. Louis, Missouri; five grandchil
dren, Miss Altha Louise Robinson,
Euia Irene Robinson, John Meredith,
all of Omaha, Floyd and Vernon
Meredith, III, of Ft. Worth, Texas,
Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Mortimer just
returned from a week’s vacation in
Minnesota at their summer home on
the lake.
Mr. Price Terrell and his wife, Mrs
Florence Terrell will leave for twc
weeks’ vacation the latter part of Au
gust. They will be the guests of Dr
Clarence Singleton.
Mrs. Mable Davis, wife of Attor
ney Davis will leave Monday for £
two weeks’ vacation in Chicago.
