Everyone wishes them a prosperous married life. Mr. Jackson of 2711 Q Street seems to be on the move at all times. He has a nice Sanitary place of busi ness and very orderly. Mr. Jackson is always prepared to feed you when you are hungry and you are always welcome in his place. Mr. Victor Taylor of 5038 South 25th St. reports that he has worked at the Armour Packing Plant for three years and is on his vacation. He will be on his vacation for one week. Mr. Taylor regrets the time when he will have to go back to work; however, he likes his job fine and is proud of it but a vacation is never long enough. Mrs. Lillie Ross of 2001 North 22nd St. reports that her husband is still working at the Alcohol Plant and is doing well. Mrs. Ross says that she attended Church Sunday and enj'oyed the services very much. Rev. Reynolds is always on the job and invites everyone to come out and j enjoy the services. Mrs. Martha Cockran of 2203 Grant St. attended her Church last Sunday and enjoyed a good sermon. Kev. and Mrs. F. C. Williams en joyed their second anniversary with the Zion Baptist Church. The Church seems to be doing nicely. We are glad that we are free of debt and we want to thank the people and the pastor. I Mr. John Taylor of Atchison, Kan sas is still on his vacation and while on his vacation he has been highly entertained by Mr. and Mrs. Cooper. Mr. and Mrs. Sappho and Mr. and Mrs. James Bronson, all of Omaha. Mr. Taylor will leave on the sixth for home. Mr. Taylor says that he admires Omaha very much. Mr. Wrothwell of 2520 North 24th St. has a real nice place and he spe cializes in flowers for weddings and funerals or anything you wish in his line of business. Mrs. Hogan of 3232 Evans has a daughter and five grandchildren. She says she is a member of Christ Tem ple and likes her Church very much and claims that she likes the Guide also. Mr. and Mrs. Rice of 3206 Pink ney are expecting to leave soon to their doctor. Mr. Rice says he would I like so much to take the Guide but can’t see to read it; however, when he returns he shall take the Guide. We all wish him luck. Mr. and Mrs. Reed of 2914 Lake has lived in Omaha for three years, coming here from Mississippi. They came and purchased the home they are now in. Mr. Reed is working at the Martin Bomber Plant where he has worked for three years. They have a real nice home and three boys in ' the army. They seem to be doing ■ nicely and are well pleased. Mr. and Mrs. Kercheval of 3026 Emmett St. have a family of six chil dren and four in school. The young est is four months old. The children keep Mrs. Kerchival very busy. They are great readers of the Guide and want to continue. __ » ! Mr. and Mrs. Murrell of 2304 No. I 29th St. are making the most beauti i ful place of the home that they pur I chased. Mr. Murrell is still working for the railroad as a cook and enjoys his work. He has been with the com pany for about six months. There is no one to keep them company but Mr. and Mrs. Murrell. Mr. Bick of 2622 Decatur have lived in Omaha for about eighteen months, moving here from Mississip pi, his native home. He is working at Armour & Company continuously. He has purchased the home and has twelve children living comfortably. They are very proud of Nebraska. Mr. and Mrs. John T. Davis of, 2118 North 29th St. have a fine flock of chickens and ducks. Mr. and Mrs. Davis are very busy keeping each other entertained. They have a lovely home. Names of States Connecticut is Indian for ‘long I river," Maine means “the main- , land,” to distinguish it from the is- ! lands, and Massachusetts is Indian 1 for “great hills place.” New Hamp- I shire is named for Hampshire, England, and Rhode Island for Rhodes, an island in the Aegean sea. Vermont is French for "green moun tain.” New Jersey was named to compliment the governor of Jersey island off Brittany, and New York, was named for the duKe of York.
