Chairman of the Public Af fairs Committee, and her Commit tee brought to us this most inter esting Picture. After adjourna ment the Club was so wonderfully entertained by the Waiters Key Club. Mrs. Mattie Johnson as host ess and Mr. Luther Johnson as host along with the Ladies Auxiliary and Men of the Club saw to it thal we were highly entertained, with Mrs. Donathan Bernice Gray as waitress, Mr. Victor Mc-Toyer as Cook and a fine one, and Mr.Ruf us Long serving the refreshments and seeing to it that no one was slighted. OVERSEAS Freddie Harris, son-in law of Mrs Dollie Gordon, 2413 Wirt St., has been overseas for the past thirty four months. His wife resides in Pine Bluffs, Arkansas. Mrs. Gor don also has a son in the Army in Galveston, Texas. Their relatives and many friends are praying for a safe and speedy return to their home and loved ones. He is visiting his wife and new daughter, Joan Frances. He is stationed at McClelland Field, California. ANNOINCE MARRIAGE Mr. and Mrs. ohn A. Anderson announce the marriage of their daughter, Marguerite to Bozolee Johnson. They are living at 2522 Wirt street. TO MEMPHIS Mrs. Delmar Woods, 2115 Maple Street, left last Saturday morning for Memphis, Tenn., to spend a few days visiting her parents, Dr and Mrs. W. H. Luster. VISITS AIN'T Mrs. Mae Lewis, Kansas City, Mo. is visiting her aunt, Mrs. Odessa Jackson, 2529 Wirt Street. Mrs. Jackson broke a bone in her knee in a fall. Surely, you must have heard of this top ranking star who is a styled pianist and composer. She has performed spectacularly on the air, stage, screen, nite clubs and television, ap pearing in the Starlight Room at the Waldorf-Astoria; the Blue Room in the Hotel Lincoln; at Radio City’s Music Hall; the swanky Ruban Bleu, and also at the Onyx Club, where she is right now, doubling from Harlem’s Apollo Theatre. Soundies, recordings, and writing hit tunes, it would seem, are Una Mae’s hobbies. Her most recent composition, “That’s The Stuff You Gotta Watch," is popular, along with two most recent (Joe Davis) rec ordings, namely: “The Rest Of My Life,” and “You’re Gonna Change Your Mind.” Others include, “You And Your Heart of Stone,” “With out You Baby,” “’Tain’t Yours,” and “You Gotta Take Your Time.” Back in 1940 Miss Carlisle composed “Walkin’ By The River,” which led the Hit Parade for more than a year. ARKANSAS Mrs. Rollie Williams of 2526 Charles street has left for Little Rock, Arkansas where she will vis it with her daughter and son. She will be gone about two weeks. Since moving back here, she has contacted many of her old friends but finds that many have passed on during her absence. She is well pleased with Omaha ami thinks it one of the finest cities in the middle west. She says Omaha has made rapid progress in tlm past 25 years. Mrs. McoDnald's brother lias been a resident of Om aha for .15 years. She is now liv ing with her daughter and grand children and is doing nicely. After living in apartments in Chicago. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Security Administration, is shown here with his wife, on their small farm near etumpka, Alabama. When Mr. Milliner received a medical dis charge from the Army two years ago, he had almost no farming eq lip ment to make a crop. With an FSA loan of $412, he bought a mule, plow, feed, seed, and other supplies. Last year he made a good crop and paid off a substantial part of the loan.
