BILBO INVITES NY. WOMAN
SOUTH, BUT WARNS HER:
“I DON’T ENTERTAIN
NEGROES.”
New York, NY.,—Most Southern
senators and congressmen just can
not refrain from dragging in their
favorite topic of social equality, no
matter what issue is under dis

Senator Theodore G. Bilbo ef
Mississippi, is no exception, in fat t
he is one of the leading spouters

prising that he answers a letter on
the anti-poll tax bill and drags in
to it the statement: "I do not en

Miss Mary W. Francis of New
York City, who happens to be
white wrote Senator Bilbo protest
ing against the announced filibus
ter on the anti-poll tax bill. In
the course of her letter she men
tioned that she had several relat

In reply, Senator Bilbo stated
that the only way to prevent a fil
ibuster would be to get he suppor
ters of the anti-poll tax bill to
withdraw it. He named Lee Press

William Green, president of the
AFL; Senators Mead and Wagn-.r

Mrs. X.—My husband has been
honorably discharged from the
Navy. He’s been home 4 weeks.
Last week he found a letter that
a young man wrote to me. This
fellow has been trying to get mo
to go out with him on dates before
my husband retuTned but I never
consented to it. The letter he
wrote, he was trying to make me
see where he meant so much to
me. But I don’t care for him but
now my husband believes that I
do and also believes I went out
on dates with him. HOw can I
show him his mistake?
Ans: The one thin gevery ser
viceman has a right to expect and
demand of his wife is that she re
main faithful to him while he is
away. And that means.... that no
flirtations no matter how small Or
how trivial can be encouraged or
condoned. You had no business ac
cepting a letter from this boy even
though you were innocent of any
wrong dnoig. Your husband knows
from the tone of the letter that
you had not been unfaithful. Nev
ertheless, he is disappointed. You
must prove to him by your ac
tions from now on that you are
a model wife and that you were
the victim of circumstances.

L. E.-My problem is my mo

mothers should. If she does hap
pen by she is in a big hurry to
leave, don’t ever have time to sit
and talk. When I go to visit her,
she is never at home. What is the
matter?
Ans: Your mamma feels that her
duty to her family ended when the
kids grew up and married. She al
ways wanted to gad about and now
she is making the most of the op
portunity. Naturally she has her
own select circle of friends whosa

H. A. R.— Ihave read- your col
umn for quite some time and find
your advice very wonderful. I'm
a young lady of 23. So far, noth
ing exciting has ever happened to
me. Boys ju'st don’t seem to notice
at all. Practically all my girl
friends are getting married. Will
the sun eve shine for me?
Ans: The sun’s shining little
gril but you can’t see the sun be
cause you have blurred your vision
with a clouyd outlook on life. !
Wipe your tears away, dry your
eyes, put the biggest smile imag
inable On your winsome face and
beam it in the idrection of the boys
in the service. And....DO THEY
LIKE SMILES. Just you try a
few and see.

R. L.—A boy has been passing
my house for the past eight years.
Recently he stopped and said he
had been seeing me all these years
and said he wanted to marry me.
Now I wish to know if he loves
me or not and is he going to stop
any more?
Ans: Your admirer has a rather j
bad reputation with women. Let j
this notoiety he has gained at the 1
expense of other women guide you
in your decision to accept or re
ject his attentions. Don’t let your
name be linked with his until you

there will reveal him in his true
