The United Ushers met at the

Sunday evening at 3:30 p. m. Tin
meeting was called to order by the
President Mr. Bud Green presid

importance was discussed. Air

Henderson was absent due to ill

know that the United Ushers of
the State of Nebraska is no longer
affiliated with the International
Association of Ushers for the dur
ation. We have decided to con
solidate all of the local Usher
Boards that will become a member
of our Union, into the United Ush
ers of the State of Nebraska.

cruiting officers in the WAC have
been relieved from all recruiting
duties in the United States and

The complaint from the Chicago
NAACP stated that though many
of the Negro perosnnel at Des
Moines completed all required
training weeks ago they are kept
at Desiloines doing almost noth

personnel is sent out immediately

at CBS in Hollywood. The show
featured a battle of bands that
would have delighted the heart of

ford and Count Basie and their
boys squared off for a solid jam
and jive session. Other stars on
the show included Bill Robinson.
Ada Brown, the Delta Rhythm
Boys, Butterfly McQueen. Barnev
Biggard, Dolores Williams and
Rose Murphy. Ernest Whitman
has the permanent spot as M.C.
for Jubilee. The program that
would have hung up an SRO sign
at the Shrine Auditorium was ouly
heard by 340 persons, a Hollywood
radio studio audience of service
men. In transcription form it will
reach all the armed forces over
seas.
