Hattie McDaniel is being sought

that time Hattie was a rising Hob

the most pampered child on 20tB

JUBILEE: Celebrating half a

a special one hour show last week
at CBS in Hollywood. The show
featured a battle of bands that
would have delighted the heart of
any hep cat when iJmmie Lunce

the show included Bill Robinson.
Ada Brown, the Delta Rhythm

“BATAAN”: If you can sit

there is something definitely

the skillful way the director handl

of thirteen men, all strangers to
each other, into a super-) fighting
unit. Kenneth Spencer gave to
the role of the ordinary Negro sol

He also gave W. C. Handy's “St.

Robert Taylor, w-ho joined our forc

forgettable memo, Thomas Mitch

excellent. I wouldn’t recommend
“Bataan” for entertainment, but if
you’re mad at the ration board for
cutting you “C” book to a “B” you
might sit through “Bataan” to find !
out just how lucky you are friend. ;
“CRASH DIVE”: The Twentieth !
