al, after an appendicitis operation.
She expects to be fully recovered in
another week or so.

McCoy Harrell of Kansas City. Kan
sas will be here to conduct an old
time revival for ten days. Rev.
Harrell is the Asst. Supt. of our Sun
day schols. He is a National offic
er of the Church of the Living God
CWFF. He is also a young man
25 years of age and has been a
Christian from a child. Come out

BROTHER DIES
Mrs. Paul Barnett, of 2709 Wirt
Street, accompanied by her sister
Mrs. Alma Gibson, had a hurried call
last week to visit a seriously ill bro
ther, Arthur Allen, of St. Paul,
Minn., who passed away there on
Tuesday. April 28th
Mr. Allen, a former Omahan, was
very prominent both in the business
and social life of that city.

A beautiful Midget Wedding was
given by the Mite Missionary Soc
iety of Bethel AME. Church- There
were 11 brides and their attendants
The brides wore beautiful little
white formals and white veils. Each
carried a boquet of flowers. Then
attendants wore formals of diffei
ent colors which made a very pretty
picture. The flower girls were lit
tle tots carrying baskets of rose
petals. The groom Leon Carter and
the best man Leroy Paige were
dressed in Tuxedos. The Preacher,
Chester Scott, was also in full
dress. The brides parents were
dressed like grown ups.
The church was beautifully dec
orated with an arch in the middle
covered with roses. The bride bring
ing in the largest amount of money
was married and also given first
prize. All of the brides did well.
The largest amount of money was
$27.45 brought in by little Elaine
Embrev of Bethel AME. Church.
She received first prize and also a
husband. The second prize was
won by little Helen Jean Gray of
the Primitive Baptist Church. The
third prize was won by Little Joyce
Rogers of Zion Baptist Church.
After the wedding those taking
part were given a re ption. ice
cream and cake was served.
We wish to thank the public fer
such a large attendance. You are
always welcome at Bethel.

Rev. Robinson preached a soul stir
ring sermon at three pm. His sub
ject was “Let us make man” and at
night the pastor preached on the
subject. A man can live without
sin. God worked miracles in the
healing service. A number of vis
itors were present. The ‘Pastor’s
subject for next Sunday morning
will be “Then Agrippa said unto
Paul Almost thou persudaded me to
be a Christian. Sunday night “God
Wants a man”. Come out everyone
and hear these wonderful sermons.
