ON THE
STREETS
Everyone is talking about the
Overall and Gingham dress ball
to be held the 27th- It will reallv
be the silid lick if everyone that
is woffin be there.
The Paul Briggs ensemble is
really an addition to the Cats and
Chics.
Everyone in his ensemble has a
nice voice and they all sing like
mocking birds. They are really
gettng to be on.—Marion Ander
son the second (Colleen Kincaid)
is a good example.
Booker Washington (another
talented cat) has and is reaching
the road to success. Sunday he
will direct the Spring Muical.
Due to the shortage of studds
w esee that Wiletta Bryant isn’t
wasting much time—She is rather
sure of the situation concerning
Mubby and Edith C. (Cowboy).
Helen King just can’t get John
ey Harrison. It didn’t seem hard
for her to tell Ernest Brill that
they could still be friends.
Odessa (former Ware) is back
in the aity of jive, jiving with the
hep cats. She looked very nice
even if she did have a long honey
moon trip.

piled up on 24th and Burdette St

NEW TREATMENT FOR
HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE
Dangerous High Blood Pressure (Es
sential Hypertension) is usually marked
by distressing symptoms such as dizzi
ness, throbbing headaches, sleepless
ness and nervousness. If disregarded,
this may lead to Heart Trouble, Stroke,
Paralysis. Hardening of the Arteries or
Kidney Trouble. Diamonex, new
formula of a heart specialist, is designed
to quickly aid m the relief of these
symptoms.
A Chicago resident says: “I suffered
from High Blood Pressure for several
Sears with increasingly severe throb
ing headaches, dizziness and shortness
of breath. I showed the Diamonex for
mula to my Doctor and, on his advice,
tried the treatment for two weeks un
der identical conditions as previous
treatments. Within only three days my
ted headaches and dizzy spells were
gone. My high blood pressure was re
duced and I sleep fine.”
Diamonex goes directly to work in
three different ways to aid in the relief
of these dangerous symptoms. Results
are speedy—within as short a time as
two weeks sufferers often find that
Diamonex has accomplished 75%
®f the total reduction possible with
this formula. If you suffer from High
jBlood Pressure you may try DIA
^lONEX without risking a penny. To
fctroduce this wonderful treatment to
pi million new sufferers this liberal trial
■offer is made for a limited time only,
f SEND NO MONEY—just your

Company, 316 No. Michigan Ave.,
Chicago, Illinois for a regular $2.00
treatment of Diamonex for only

Monday night that led a crap
game and when a chic yelled ‘cops’
they left dough—marbles and dust.
The “Cop” yell was only a gag
We are surprised that that word
can scar such disromantical
studds.
Yps—we said it! This summer
slacks will be the lick as usual,
but hath wil lbe worn with them
this year. Several styles of hats

We can’t help but menshun how
fine the Lawson sisters fell out
Sunday. Dorothy in a pastel
plaid of pink and blue coat, a light

Charlotte in a strictly Pittsburg
fashioned outfit, a three piece dra.p
ped blue tweed suit with a light,
fur color, blue bonnet and pursj
with those fine red shoes. B ,t.h
outfits looked very smart.
Edna Taylor was another one
of the best outstanding outfits
Sunday—She looked very fine.
Gaze it.., ,we did!!!
Is it true that Leota Levison let
Donald Peoples take her to the
affair Friday night? or was Don
busted (as usual).
Not that she goes with him.
Winfield Ragland looks rathe’.'
sick when he sees a certain ch;c.
Could it be that-could be!
Betty Jones’ new luv affair is
cornin’ on like a thunder-storm.
Every time it Lightnings it thun

Waiter Wright, one of Bronze
Vilie’s promising dressers really
did look fine Sunday. At least, a
certain cat said so.
Bertha Davis hoo also looked
very nice, must have given Jos
ep Wright the brush off for a sol
dier. They were Solid together.

Johney Lee Anderson and Rich

WAS TOKIO BOMBED?
Radio and Newspapers through
out the country last week were
crowded with reports of a “Bomb
ing Raid” on Tokio and other Jap
anese cities. And there wTas ru
mor and counter rumor. Then
came reports that it was all propa
ganda and a lure to victimize the
United Nations. We shall know
a part 0f the truth bye and by0.
WHAT IS NEW BENEATH
THE SUN?
Is there anything new beneath
the Sun? A few things, perhaps,
but far fewer than one woud sup
pose. For example, two thous
and years ago the scientists had
discovered 76 elements; now we
have 93, possibly 94. We moderns
did not discover war. Religion,
too, is quite old in the world. The
classes and castes about which we
complain in the present era, were
with us in the long ago- Many
centuries ago we had “bright
young men” who looked with dis
dain upon their elders and talked
loftily about the failures of the
older men of their day. So, today,
we have young men who orate a
bout the failure 0f “older” lead
ers, forgetting that their elders
gave them the freedom to say
what they say about their bene
factors.
Wiser men in every age have re
minded YOUTH that every gener
ation, every country and age are
the heirs of all that has gone be
fore; and that the sum 0f it all
was essential to present possibil
ities and accomplishments. They
reminded YOUTH then as we re
mind YOUTH now, that pvery
young thing, every new thing, is
not better than every old thing.
Wp do remind them, too, that the
ability to evaluate history, by the
large, comes with maturer years.
WE MUST NOT FORGET
Not very ]„ng ago, a young or
ator, swept away by his modern
ity, referred to his parents wnfl
had passed away as simple folk
who never developed beyond the
point of going to work, to bed, and
to church.
Ours did all these things, and
they were good things to do, but
they did many more things far

CONGRATULATIONS NAACP
For more than twenty years we
have been urging the Omaha
Branch 0f the NAACP to estab
lish an office and keep it open
from which to carry on its work
of aiding to make America a De
mocracy within the framework of
her laws.
Over and over again we have
said that the people can and will
support the effort when they kn,,w
you are sincerely fighting the bat
tle for them which they cannot
fight for themsevks. And Heav
en knows the National Association
has done just that, locally and na
tionally.
Last week our dream came true
The office of the Omaha Branch
is to be open each and every jay
henceforth, with an office Secret
ary in charge, working under the
President and Board of Directors
of the Branch.
Congratulations and Godspeed.
LONG DISTANCE BOMBERS
Major Alexander Seversky, air
plane designer and world-renowned
authority on Aviation, declares
that the long range bomber la to
play an important, perhaps, a de
cidious role, in the world war. He
warns now, as he has been warn
ing America for years, to prepare
for this branch of warfare as nev
er before.
Major Seversky was one of the
few great aviators in America wlv
championed General Billy Mitchell
during his fight to arouse Amer
ica as to the need of preparation
in the air. America did not heed
Gen. Mitchell. We hope she will
heed Seversky now.
