order Thursday February 12.
We partially organized our clue
with the impeachment of our pres
ident, discontinuance of certain
memberships, along with a few
resignations. A new nomination
is set for Thursday. February 19.
We are working with new vigor
upon the three act comedy, “He
Was A Gay Senorita” written by
Austin Goetz which will be ready
by May to present to the public.
Our membership is of twenty
persons which is the definite quota
Miss Ruth Forrest acted as the
president. She also helped to
form the constitution which the
members voiced freely.
We ask that no persons came to
witness rehearsals without special

COLUMN

We had the pleasure of talking
with Mr. George Thomas one of
the streamlined room service med
of the Fontenelle hotel and it was
a very fine fellowship for a few
moments, as he informed us that
Mr. Hill and Mr. Earl Copeland
were taking good care of the room
service in an up and go move
ment at all times and when we
got the information that Mr. Reed
was headwaiter in the Black-Gold
room it was real good news and
Mr. Underwood and his crew were
on the job right up to the minute.
We Hope tjie boys will keep the
good work up.
We were in one of the Northside
Spots on February 15th and it
was a pleasure to meet Mr. Earl
Jones and we truly hope he will
not have another attack of illness.
We also met Mr. Frank Buford at
church Sunday morning, and we
are quite sure the headwaiter Mr.
Blackwell of the Omaha club hopes
the boys will all keep well and ac
tive.

latest war news and also all cur
rent events of the race and we
should all help them aS» it is the
outstanding paper of our city
now why not take out one year’s
subscription as the uplifting fea
tures of the race is what we like
to read about.
Brother John Evans is very
much out in front at the Rome ho
tel and knows what to do at ah
times.
The Musician headwaiter and
the very fine crew of waiters and
cooks at the Chamber of Comm
erce are on the map in a very large
way.
The White horse inn with the
quick stepping crew Mr. Branch,
Mr. Louis White and Mr. Dave
Russ are tops at all times.

Immediately upon calling the
meeting to order, Mr. Snyder in a
very terse statement, for which he
later apologized because he under
stood that the delegates had felt
he was being rude and discourt
eous, declared that the houses un
der discussion would remain vac
ant until the controversy concern
ing them subsided.
Upon making his statement,
which included other remarks con
cerning ‘pressure groups’ to whicK
he would not yield, Mr. Snyder a- j
bruptly left the meeting.
This acted as a match to th?
torch, for the meeting almost got
•ut of control. Rev. Horace White
brought about some semblance of
order and asked the delegates to
hold their tempers.
Shortly afterward Snyder return
-ed, it is said at the instance of
Senator Prentiss Brown of Michi
gan, who insisted that the delegat
es be treated with common decen
cy and courtesy.
Snyder then took his position on
the platform and offered a weak
apology, but remained adamant in
his decision that neither white nor
colored should occupy the houses.
This, he said, was in disagreement
with the opinion of Coordinator
Palmer, who in his turn said that

der’s attitude.

ial said, but it was evident that all
was not well, even when he again
said, "I made a real mistake when
I called this a pressure group".

Green, persident of the internat
ional body, sustaining the colored
folk in their fight.
Telegrams had been sent to out
standing Negroes asking their
presence t° assist in the fight.
These included James E. Scott,
Judge Armond Scott, Dr. Emmett
J. Scott, Judge William C. Huea
ton, all of whom were present and
William Trent, director of racial
relations of the PWA.
