Some of them indicate they are the "greas. ed mitt” variety; others involve SCrlblinGS HOWDY FOLKS, HOWDY! _ Since this column is a discussion column instead of a lot of gossip. The subject of the week is neck ing. Here we are presenting what different People think about it. ****** A Girl’s Opinion What’s the use of going with a boy if you can’t neck sometimes. A Boy’s Opinion: Of course we boys like to rom ance, that’s partly what we go' with girl for. A Minister’s Opinion: I don’t think children should conduct themselves in such a dis orderly fashion. A Mother’s Opinion: Kissing or necking as the teen agers call it, really isn’t becomirv to a young couple. Necking a rouses passion, which is something that is uncontrollable. I believe a boy and girl can gc together without necking. Nuk ing leads to many things. My Opinion: If a boy and girl want to neck go and do it. But you all know what it sometimes leads to. If you think you can control passion. ....go on and neck, .be careful where you neck. This shouldn't be done in public places such as the picture show, drugstore, or any public place. Neck if you please to do so, but be very care ful. (Don’t tell anyone I neck1 sometimes). ****** Gossip: Nothing much happened unus ual during the week except the big dance Monday night. And you know the usual procedure. Some of the girls and boys were drunk. Of course some of them went who really couldn’t afford it knowing all the time they! wouldn’t eat the next day, but the young men thought they would, show off one night anyway. Since I’m, new at this kind of thing. I hope you will be patient till I do better. In the discussions that are writ ten at the first of this column, I do not take any side. I show no partiality. He gave1 his whole purse of $90,000.00 to the Navy Relief Fund. For this | he has been criticised in many quarters. To these criticisms Louis answers that he knew what he was doing, notwithstanding the | fact that the United States Navy | for whom he rendered his service ! would not permit him to enlist as 1 a seaman. We often think of a woman with a lovely skin as being blessed by nature. And, of course, she is. But credit is due her too, for she knows that a lovely skin can be kept beau tiful only by her own efforts. She knows that it takes constant vigi lance and care to guard against en larged pore openings, blackheads, oily shine, or rough, scaly skin due to dryness. She knows that scrupu lous cleanliness and good health plays an important role. If your complexion isn’t all it should be, it isn’t too late to restore its loveliness. Start a campaign right now for keeping it glowingly Clean, and work hand in hand with nature and improve it from within by taking extra good care of your health. Here are a few simple "musts” for vibrant health. Eat three, bal anced meals a day containing plenty of green vegetables, fresh fruits, milk, butter, cream and eggs. Drink lots of water—at least eight glasses a day. Get as much fresh air and exercise as you can, and sleep at least eight hours each night. This last might seem a bit difficult, but a good average to shoot at. Now for the outside. In many sections of the country wintry days with smoke-filled air mean more and more care of your skin if you aspire to a pretty complexion. However, the following routine is equally good for the lass from the sunny south. If your skin is the oily type, soap and water is your best bet. Use it liberally two or three times a day. Be careful in your selection of soap. Find a mild one that does not irri tate your face and stick to it. After each scrubbing pat on a mild as tringent. Remember to treat your skin gently. Always use an upward movement when applying or remov ing anything from your face. Some times you will want to give your face a thorough going over with cold cream. Then you use the transparent, liquifying kind, and after wiping it off with tissue, you remove every trace with a peppy skin freshener. If you are bothered with a little courseness down the center of your face, maybe a few blackheads on the forehead, nose or chin, you’ll want to use a grainy cleanser several times a week to scour your skin clean and clear. If you have a dry skin that rough ens and flakes at the slightest pro vocation, the more oil it gets the better it looks. Especially in cooler weather, go a little slow on soap and water. Get a good sudsing at night, followed by a rich, lubricating cream, suffice. For daytime cleaning use a white opaque cleansing cream for the best results. Spread it on carefully right up to the hair line. Then whisk it off gently with soft tissues. For a thorough job use two coats. Always remember that a lovely skin is a clean one, and the care that I have described helps nature show you off to your best advantage. What are your beauty problems?
