Will You Help The Red Cross Do The Job? ♦♦ < Volunteers to help with the Red Cross membership Roll Call, more sewing and knitting workers to meet a large quota in the produc tion department and additional (members of the new class to train office assistants for the Red Cross were the immediate needs announc ed at the regular monthly meet ing of the advisory council and ward chairmen of the Red Cross preparedness drive held last Thurs day at the chapter house. Mrs. Jack Abajian, city chair man of the preparedness coordin ation program, announced that the present ward, precinct and block chairmen appointed for the dura tion of the defense emergency will need a number of volunteers to help with the annual roll call. Any women who can give a day or more to help with this important job are asked to call Roll Call headquarters, Ja. 4852 before the drive opens. Reports given by Mrs. Abajian, Miss Rosemary Tuttle, executive secretary of the chapter, and by ward chairmen disclosed that Red Cross classes are being held all over town as well as at the chap ter house Telephone calls bring daily requests for more classes ;rd offers of help in various depart ments. There are 68 first tid classes now meeting and others be ing organized. Ten home nursi ig classes are now meeting or abo.it to begin their courses.
