Each class is contesting for the attendance and offerings banner, and it is really, who is who. Our pastor, Rev. Jones was somewhat indisposed and w-u.n’t out. The officers took charge of the morning and evening services and had an old fashioned speaking meeting which brought down the fire from on high. Out of the amny Christian experiences given, was proof that God is real. The Church is marching on through with its many auxiliaries weekly. Beginning with the S- S. and B. T. U. workers conference, Friday at 7 p. m. W. W .and H. II Clubs Tues., 8 p. m. Objective— Prayer meeting, Wednesday 8 p. m- Missionary Society Thursday, 2 p. m. The Sunday School presented a splendid program at 10 p. m- The Supt. Mrs. Hill and Teachers and Parents’ hearts were made to re joice when they listened to the children recite their pieces and sing their songs. Each one was dressed becoming the day of Eas ter, altogether they reminded tv of a garden of beautiful lilies,— clotled in humility and serv.ce. The pastor preached morning and evening. Baptising four at 11 a. m. They were SI/'fester Eeasley, Hildred Sanders, Jauv-s Shelton, Jean Reagins. Others will be baptized later. This was a day long to be remembered. CHRIST TEMPLE MEN’S CLUB The Christ Temple Men’s Club, met at the resident of Brother and Sister D. K. West, 2621 Grant St.,1 As this was our regular Prayer meeting night, we took care of our regular business first so we could go down in prayer without any cares of this world and we had a very high time. COSMOPOLITAN CLUB The Cosmopolitan Club met on April 17, at 2226 Miami St., with Mr. George Clark as host. The meeting was opened in the usual manner with the president presid ing. All members present. After the business meeting was closed, social games were played after which a delicious luncheon was served. The club adjourned to meet April 25 at 2501 Corby St., with Mrs. Pearl Brummel as tne hostess Hattie Dunn, President, George Clark, Reporter. COMPLETELY RECOVERED Mrs. Cecelia W. Jewell, 2223 Grant Street, who has been con fined to the hospital, has returned home completely recovered. BIRTHDAY PARTY— On Tuesday night April 15th, 1941, Mrs. Helen Sampson 2609 Lake St., celebrated her 69tlr birth day, which was wonderful. Present were four of her Cl»h members also Mr. W- Walker of Council Bluffs and one son Harry Sampson. She was beautifully dressed in an old rose satin formal dress with a lavender satin band around her head. She received nice presents and cards. The table was decorated with white linen cloth with sweet peas, as a center piece. Cake and ice cream were served. The cake was yellow with pink roses with green leaves writing on top.
