Mrs. Jones really knows how to set a table. People in Dundee could have gotten seine ideas from her because the table was lavishly decorated with every thing that would make a party enjoyable. Also met Mr. J. A. Bailey of De.s Moines, the father of. J A. Bailey Jit, the well known bar ber of the Tuxedo Barber Shop. Hr. Biailey Sr. is employed by the Rock Island R. R. have been for 36 years. What a record. Oh yes, Mr. Bailey senior weights about 276 pounds in a bathing suit and his Very popular son weighs 115 in his socks. Galloway, Mrs. Cecilia Jewell, Mrs. Roxy Brown, Mrs. Charlie Davis, Mr. Jas. Brown, Mr. Hilliard Crawford, Mr. Ray Williams. The hostess spared no expense to make the party the years stand out event and it was beyond a doubt. The names mentioned were a very select few who helped to make the party the huge success that it was. Miss Thompson is the house guest of Mrs. Art McCaw also cousin. I am assured that no punches were pulled or below the belt hitting went on because the party migrated over to the Cottor. Miss Thompson is planning on going home this week, but she can never forget Omaha and her friends. JUSTICE DEPARTMENT URGED TO ACT IN KLAN BRUTALITIES New York, Oct. 19—The con tinued lawless activity of the Ku Klux Klan in South Carolina, in brutal attacks on Negro citizens in an effort to prevent colored citizens in this state from voting in 1940. This was the view expressed by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People in letters of protest to the De partment of Justice. In two let ters the Association called for federal action to punish Klansmen in South Carolina who last Sept. 25 beat and mauled Negro citi zens in Simpsonville and Foun tain Inn, S.
