County Chairman Edward J. Dugan, pleased with a three-to cne showing by Democrats in the early registration, confidently pre dicted a margin of 40,000 Demo cratic registration in the county this year. Democratic County candidates are working through county head quarters, 1816 Douglas St. on a unitul front campaign for the straight Democratic ticket. State candidates also are using tho coun ty headquarters for their activities in Douglas County. Chairman Dugan and the three Democratic candidates for County Commissioner promptly rejected an attempt by Republican County Commissioner candidates to inject a County Manager issue into the county campaign. The Democratic candidates tako the stand that sinco they will have no votes on adoption of the County Manager plan, they should devote them selves to their economy platform pledges rather than taking up oth er matters in the campaign. Chairman Dugan issued a denial to criticism that some party work era worej not carrying out head quarters instructions regarding the manner of listing unregistered vo ters. “There have been no complaints to headquarters regarding misre presentations by any of the work ers,” he said. “W'e want full regis tration for all Demcicratics by fair methods. It is not my desire, nor ever has been, to elect the Democratic ticket by deception or misrepresentation.” Tha straight Democratic ticket, congressional, state, and county has been indorsed by the Douglas County Union Voters League, re presenting political activities of or ganized labor. Another early in dorsement of the whole ticket is from the Austrian-Hungarian Vermin. --0O0 THE WELL DRESSED WOMAN The well dressed woman .of to day does not go in for fads or styles that are the rage of the moment. By Bessie Mae West Althouse Beauty School When we hoar the word, “beau ty,” we usually think of the face even though there are many kinds and classes of beauty. Sincci it is the face that we look at most, remember longer, and make us de finitely individual, we shall build our charm beginning with the face. Just as the bath is the founda tion to evening and morning dress and foundation cream the begin ning of make-up so is a beautiful complexion the foundation of a woman’s charm. In order to have n smooth, clear complexion, we must rid the numerous little pores of thej skin of dust, dirt perspira tion, and sebum. These wastes we can remove by giving the face a gentle but thor ough washing with a lather from a reliable face soap. A regularly end carefully (leansed face is rid of blackheads and many forms of Acne. Visit your cosmetologsit and watch “HOLLYWOOD CHARM.” -—0O0 Johnson Drug Co.
