Churches, HETHEL AME CHURCH J. S, Jefferson, Reporter Rev. T. J. Sanford, Pastor The Sunday School starter the day’s services With a good attend ance. The lesson was found in Mark 15:22-39, Subject, “The Suffering Servant.” Golden Text “For the Son of Man came not to ho mini i’ered unto but to minist er and give his life a.s a ransom for many,” Mark 10:45. All tea chers were present and prepared to take care of their classes. After thirty niiniutes if discussion, the school was ca'led to order by the superintendent,, after which a splendid review was given by Mrs. Mable Harris and many good thou ghts were drawn from the lessoni Rev. Sanford ma.de some remarks in behalf of the Sunday school. At eleven o’clock, Rev. Sanford spcke from Isaiah 48:18. A special song servce was rendered by the Junior Chior under the direction i of Mrs. Frances Cloud. The Spirit ran high in Bethel. The result of ] this service wa,s three souls add i ed to the church. We thank the l ord for the visitation of the Holy Spirit. The funeral services if Bro W. M. Carter who departed this life June 14 waog held at Bethel : conducted by Rev Sanford. The church wi-^ics to extend their heartfelt sympathy to the surviving family. The sick of the i church was reported getting a! ng f just fine. We were pleased to. have Mrs. J. W. Williams the wife of our present '^residing Filer ‘of worship with us this morning.. The Allen League met at the usual hour. After discussing the league lesson, cur Leag delegate gave a nice report from the Dis tret Conference if the A ME chur ches heid in South Omaha. Mrs. Carrie E. White, Evangelist of the iChicag'o JGonferer.ee, gave us a htaiuitifil ‘a|l dndminisrtr J; balk which was enjnyed by all present. At seven thirty our union ser vice convened. A special number! was rendered by Rev. D. W B *.ss. Title "When the gate swings ipen let m# in. " The Evangelist Mrs. White preached fur us. Text from John 15:7 “If you abide in me and my word abide in you, y u shall ask what you will and it shall be given u;»to you.’’ Every ine enjoyed the beautful message. Our Union Ser vice is doing nicely conducted by Reverends Sanftrd and Bass. Come and worship with us. Our regular prayer and o! service Wednesday of each week. MT CALVARY COMMUNITY CHURCH Rev. It. W. Johnson, pastor M rs. Edna Mitchell, reporter Sunday school opened at 9:45 with the" Supt. Mrs Edna Mitchell in charge. A large r/Jinber was in attendance. As we are celebrating our 5th anrriverstary, .Rev, Caldwell de livered the sermon at 11:00 o’clock. The spirit re.n high. At 3:00 o’clock Madam Elson of Gary i Ipdiarn, had the Women which was a wonderful j’.nd inspiring server. At 8:00 o'elec, service was opened by the choir singing “The Lord is in his Holy Temple,’ The pastor delivered the message from Geo. 32: 26 subj, “Lord, bless my sould." Two were added to the membership, Monday night, Rev. Fields of Tulsa Okla, will Ik with us, Phophesying Wednesday night service, Thursday night service,! The youth of the church par ticiputed in all services of the day. Visitors who worshipped with us wore, Mr. and Mrs, (1. Andcr sen, of Chicngo, 111. They are formerly of Omaha. 11YPU met at 6:30 P. M. The pastor brought us the message fir the evening service. His sub ject, “The world have I hid in my Heart That I M’ght not Sin Against Thee,, Psalms 119. We all had a good time with the Lord.
