CHURCH “The Friendly Church” Dr. R. A. Adams, Pastor Tho services at St. John last Sunday were started bv a fine at tendance at Sunday school. The Sunday school missed Mr. .T. C. Parker, who is ill Mr. Par ker has been a very active mem ber for many years. Mrs. Parker’s absence being due to the illness of her husband. The Sunday school prays for his speedy recovery. iDr. Adams was in his pulpit for both services during the day. For the morning, his text was front St. John 21st chapter and 17th verse. His general thought was “Service.” From this he left many good things for the Chris tian!? to think over. At the evening service, he took his text from the 51st Psalm and the 13th erse. His subject was, “Joy of Salvation.” At the evening service, there were two ladies to join church. The men of the church are looking forward to Men’s Day, with Mr. P. Bough in charge of the program. It is hoped that all m| n and men friends of the church will join in and help to make this a great day in every way. The men expect tto have a fine men’s chorus as well as other interesting features on the program. The church wishes to express it’s sympathy to Mrs. J. C. Parker during the ilness of Brother Par ker and to all others who may be sick. We are always glad to see visit ors at St. John and invite them to make it their church home while in the city. -o BETHEL BAPTIST MISSION ART CLUB The Bethel Baptist Mission Art club met at the home of Alice Nel son, 2631 Blondo street, with 12 present.
