This Week In
Thought and Religion
By Robert L. Moody
; Mother’s Day—
Sunday will be another day that
we shall honor those women to
whom we owe our mortal lives.
Beautiful words and flowers can
not cypress our appreciation for
the. To those of you who are liv
ing, we extend our deepest devo
tion. To the honored dead, we live
as human memorials of their
earthly teachings and labor.
Even in these days of birth con
trol, both legal and illegal, we re
peat, in be half of you mothers,
what the angel sa^d to the bles
sed mother :“Hail thou that are
highly favored, the Lord is with
thee. Blessed art thou amongst
women and blessed is the fruit of
thy womb.”
But our chief desire is that we
have, in this and coming genera
tion, more Jachabed’s as Moses’
Mother and more Hannah’s as
Sammuel’s Mother. Ma have fewer
Jezebels. Remember,, you Mothers
and potential Mothers, that you
are creating a better or a more
corrupt world. All depends upon
nor godly or ungodly training
The sentiments of each of our !
hearts may be fourd in the fol- !
lowing quotation:
“The carnation that 1 wear for
vou,
Will only be a part
Of what this day will mean
for me—
The rest is in niv heart.”

A \ EARLY MAY
D A Y FESTIVAL
All nature is quite glad today
It is the first of May,
The merry month of outdoor joy
For every girl and boy
From for and near on the green
The children can be seen;
They dance, they run, they skip
and roll
Around the huge May pole
'
In garlands neat upon each bough
The flowers formed are now,
And clothed in brightness all
around
The happy folks are found.
The music fl nts upon the breeze
And through the new leaved trees,
Th children, clad in bright array,
Never were seen mor gay.
This May Day fears will long be
kept,
Its joys we’ll e’er accept,
And we will wait patiently
For April next to flee.

The buttercups are coming

And in the sunny meadows
The dandelions shine.
