THE GUIDITE CLUB Youth Frolic At Big Guidite Party Saturday evening the Guidite I club, with a membership of 700, fro licked at an impromptu party held in the auditorium of the Urban League Community Center. Thera they broadcasted over a loud speaker system donated by the Continental Baking Company carrying the soft and soothing voices of youth out into the street causing the front doors of ail homes in t.hs vicinity of the Center to be filled with homemakers ad miring the songs, speech and wise saying of members of the Guidite club who wero being introduced o\er the air by Mr. Phillip Holmes, who came all the way from Chi cago to aid in making th? party an enjoyable occasion for the Guiditos.. Assisting Mr. Holmes, wos Mr. J. Westbrook McPherson, who portrayed, the part of "The Man about Town” and conducted games over the air. Following the program, Uncle Gil served the members with Jello and cake, made possible by friends of youth for which Uncle Gil •wishes to thank. The Guidite party, now over, Uncle Gil turns his attention to its first annual city wide Christmas | tree, at which time the. Guidite Club will be the host to every child in Omaha and surrounding terri tory, distributing candy, fruit, toys and clothing designed to bring joy to thousands of children who read the Guidite Page weekly that part of the Omaha Guide dedicated to youth and its cultural uplift. Vote $20,000 For New Oakwood Building Battle Creek, Mich. Nov. 11 (ANP)—An appropriation of $20, 000 for the erection of a new Ad ministration building for the Oak wood Junior college of Huntsville, Ala., was voted by the Fall Council of Seventh-day Adventists in its recent session held here. Tho estimated cost of this new building is $30,000, $10,000 of which has been subscribed by the World Conference of Seventh day Adventists. The Union Conferences of North America will appropriate another $10,000. The constituency of the Oakwood Junior college will raise the other $10,000 by public subscription. Nearly $2,000 of Oak wood’s share has already been raised Enlargement of the institution’s facilities has been necessitated by tho large enrollment. The school has the largest college enrollment in its history. Students are in at v, tendance from nearly 30 states, as well as foreign countries. Delegates to the Fall Council have come from all parts of the world. This is the annual gathering for the leaders in the world-wide work of Seventh-day Adventists to lay plans and to adopt the budget for the coming year. There were 26 colored delegates in attendance.
