noon at 3 o'clock a program was
re ndered with Mrs. R. O. Jones as
mistress of ceremonies. Of interest
was the subject diccusscd by Mrs.
Gladys A. Ihallum, executive secre
tnry of the YWCA. The St. John
choir and the pastor. Rev. Adams
were present. The song they sang
were uplifting and inspiring. It is
truly a pleasure to hear this talent
ed choir sing.
At the evening worship the
‘Candle Light” service conducted
by the women, was beautiful and
impressive. It is truly a great
thing to be a Christian that lets
his light shine so men may see
your good works glorify the Father
in Heaven.
Next Sunday will be Men’s Day.
Saturday evening October 30th,
the Sunday school department is
giving a Hallowe’en party. Come
dressed for the occasion. Everyone
is cordially invited. Those sick
are Mrs. M. E. Burton, whose con
dition is serious. Mrs. Winters also
is quite ill. Mrs. Beck, Green, Da
vdson and Johnson are convalesc
ing.

The third meeting of the
Gross Eicks was held October 26th,
at the YWCA. The club discussed
their old business and new business
The following girls attended the
cabinet conference at the downtown
YWCA: Doris Newland, Mildred
Squires and Mary Wiggins. Mildred
Squires discussed what happened
at the conference. The chairmen
chosen this year were Bertha
Young, music; Geraldine Smith,
service; Rachel Covington, program
Olive Willis, social. Doris Ware,
membership; and Margaret Dortch,
publicity.
Betty Davis, Doris Newland and
Margaret Dortch were chosen to
represent our club at the Inter
Club Council. The club is expecting
to have many good times this year.
