Mco'ly “Training Children’’ “Training a child in the way you would (have him go; and his teach ing shall not depart from him“— Prov. 22:6. We are at the beginning of an other school year, so before we dis cuss the subject, we salute all of tihe children who will return to Iheir studies hoping they will use every opportunity to be grateful to paients who sacrifice their money and lives for tihe education of youth. To the parents, wc say “Be encouraged, be hopeful'. Maybe if you don’t receive a personal reward for your labor*, society and the world in general will probably be benefited. But the proverb quoted above places a serieus challenge before parents. With our pre-ent complex society and educational system, we have placed too much of the task of training our children upon tihe teachers of secular schools and church schools.. I Often we abuse these- teachers because they critize our children a”d reprimand them, whereas if we gave them their fundamental train ing church school and public school teachers would not have so much trouble. It is a sad mistake to ex pect text beok training to reform the behavior and regenerate the character of our children. Then you have the nerve to say children are not ‘‘raised,” cr reared as they used to be. The fault is net in the children, but is in you. The family alter and Bible home train ing is a “lost art” and the children are not getting any “raising” to depart from. Turthfully they are probably being “raised” as hogs, -ows, etc., i.e., being fed and part ly clothed. But to be trained to he morally clean, mentally Tit, and reigious, they don’t get that. Sel dom, if ever, do some children hear 'Iheir parents pray. The Word of God is right and we, if anybody have failed. Begin now to train your children, then you will curve, crime and give the “chool teachers less trouble. You can’t save your child from hell until you are first saved yourself. “Be a Christian.” Robbin’s Pharmacy Ve Make Our Own Ice Cream Fresh Daily 2106 No. 24th St. WE 1711 MODERN SHOE REPAIR 1410 North 24th Street Women's Top Lifts_ 15c Vomen’s half soles.65c & up len’s half soles and heels_ — —..$1.00 & up /Ten’s half soles....,75c and up den’s rubber heeb.35c and up Oiildren’s half soles and heels_ 75c Jhildran’s half soles „....50o up Quality Is Our Policy Kidneys Must Clean Out Acids The only way your body can clean out Acids and poisonous wastes from yo blood Is thru a Million tiny, d*»llc«te Km ney tubes or filters, but beware of ch» ! d; stic.
