McVay, 2868 Corby S';., w hile in the city. GUIDE PLANT VISITOR? Mr. Ed Dunn, Chicago, 111.; Mr’. Gertrude Evans, Sprinfield, P • Miss Inez Knighten, Chicago; M and Mrs. John B. Knightener als of Chicago, 111., were visitors at the Omaha Guide plant, Friday. Wihile in the city they visited M r and Mrs. Harry Leland, 2824 No 26th street. Mrs. Gertrude Evans will make her home in Omaha. Her husband is a member of Red Perkins or chestra. -o William Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Davis, of 2118 No. 29th street, left Monday evening for Fisk university. While attending Fisk, Mr. Davis will major in So ciology and Music. Mr. Davis was very active in many social activities of the com munty. Ho will remain away until next June. Alfonza Davis also son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Davis left Saturday for Lincoln where he will attend Nebraska university. Mr. Davis was winner of a tuition scholarship gven by the Kappa Alpha Psi frat ernity. Mr. Davis will major in Business Adminstration and minor in Law. Miss W’illette I Embry who re ceived her Masters of Arts degree at the University of Omaha this summer at the summer semester in July 1937, has been appointed in structor of mathmetics in the high school at Richmond, Ky. This being Miss Embry’s homo is of a special significance for she is at home with her parents. Miss Embry’s mother, Mrs. L. E. Embry has taught ma thematics in Richmond high school for many years and resigned in fa vor of her daughter this year. Miss Embry’s father is a retired nm.il carrier. Mr. E. M. Embry and wife are Berea college, Ky. graduates, when both races attended this col lege on equal basis. Miss Embry is a niece of Mrs. Hiram R. Green field of Omaha. ] Clarinda, Tat. News ' Miss Louise Neal., r.cprter Second Ilaptist Church Sunday school was well attended with Miss Rachel Oason our new superintendent presiding. Morning services were high ser vices of the day. The pastor brou ght forth the message. Dinner was served on the church ground*. Afternoon service was the high light of the day. All officers \ve.r installed for the new years work.
