Earn Extra Money
School days have come to an
end, which means boys and girls
everywhere have the opportunity
to make merry during the three
months vacation. Here’s hsping
that a majority of the Guidites es
pecially the boys will fnd jobs and
earn money so as to help their
parents defray expenses at home.
While we’re on the subject of
[working, perhaps it wouldn’t be a
bad idea if those of you desiring to
earn some money during your
spare time, would sell copies of
THE OMAHA GUIDE.

Interesting Facts Concerning
Our Great Musicians
Paganini
Paganini, .the wonderful vio
linist who was at times called
the devil in human form once
refused three hundred guineas
offered to him for two nights
performance at Vauxliall Gar
dens, thinking himself entitled
to five hundred guineas, lie had
vague plans of coming to Amer
ica, but decided not to do so
when he ascertained that he
would lose u few weeks on the
voyage. Paganini valued his
time at a hundred guineas a
day and thought it wiser to re
main where lie could get it.
Bedthoven
Beet lip veil was abnormally
fond of soup and references are
made to his favorite which was
known as “bread soup,” al
though no on|e knows exactly
what it, was further than that
when lie made it he broke 12
eggs into it. Some say, however,
he never got it to satisfy him
self. lie was very fond of wines,
fish, game and eggs. If he found
that the eggs were not fresh
he had a delicate habit of throw
ing them at In's housekeeper,
llis aim was not always go<>.
sometimes they flew out ol the
window and landed on passers
by who failed to appreciate the
honor of being pelted with eggs
oven though by a great genius.
lie imagined that lie was a
fine cook and once he invited
a party of friends to a meal
that lie himself had prepared
llis friends were surprised ,ti
see him, ladle in hand, wearinp
a white apron and a night cap
on his head. The soup was mis
erably thin stuff in wliicl
there floated a few globules ol
grease. The meat was tough be
yond description and .the veget
aides were a horrible green
mess. Beethoven ate with gusto,
but bis friends confined them
selves tofrult,.
