This Week in Thought and Religion By Robert L. Moc-dy ^ ictory! lie an overeomer! The great victory that Joe Louis achieved over Braddock recent ly' provokes ^reral practical thoughts. In order to overcome any obstacle in any phase of life one must have courage to “see it through.” Should we become defeated ,let us go down a did the ex-champion. Som,e may think lightly of our inference that the Christian life is a prize fight or battle; but the scriptures bear witness to these facts, only “the wea pons of our warfare are not carnal; but mighty through Cod to the pulling down of strong holds.” II Cor. 10:4. As w,e strive each day to please Cod and over come sin and selfishness, we are encour aged to win the victory because our “weapons are mighty .through Cod,” Satan declares that it cannot be done and that no one can have victory but “this is ,t,he victory that over cometh the world even our faith,” I John 5:4. We may not have a chance to become world heavyweight champions. As Christians, we should not desire such ; “for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, the rulers of darkness of this world against spiritual wickedness in high places;” Eph. 0:12. The Christ-like life is a victorious life over sin, .the flesh and the devil. Therefore, “Be an oVercon^sr. Only co wards yield when the foe they meet on the battlefield. We arc blood bought princes of t he roy al hosts and must not falter nor desert our post.” Sing! Swing! Dance! That Swing, Sing and Dance Orchestra will be in town soon featuring Anna, Mae \\ inburn, the Mid-west’s most popular en tertainer. LEGAL NOTICE Thomas and Thomas, Attorneys Omaha National Bank Bldg.
