Mother Woods gave 1he pastor a beautiful Instruction in behalf of the minis ter’s work. Beginning Monday there will be special Help and Healing Services held each day throughout the week from 12 <Kin until 2 p. tn. Rev. Cobbs of yhicago and Bro. Boswell of Kansas City and many o their visitors are expected here this week. You too, are invited to come and help us. At 3:30 p. m., Sunday, June 27th, Father and Son Day will be ob served. R«w- Davs, pastor of Anti och Baptist Hhurch, will be the speaker. The pastor and deacons invite eery father and son of the city to come and help us make this a great day. Sunday marked the close of the convpntio^i. Sunday morning, at 9:30, the Model Sunday school was conducted, Mr. N. C, Garner presid ing. At 11:00 a. m., Salem’s regular service was held. Rev. F. S. Good lett brought to us a very inspiring message,. His text was found in Isaiah 30:15, subject, “The Secret of a Conquering Church.” At 3:00 p. m-, the Convention service wns held. The Model BYPU meetings /Were held at 6:30 p. m., Mr. J. W Dacua, presiding. At. 8:00 p. m. Salem’s regular night service was continued. Rev. Pettis brought a very timely message. The sermon treated on the t hurch’s Relation ship to Christ. Evening service was carried out on time. Rev. Adams, Pastor The Sunday school was full of 'merest and the spiritual aspect . •' the church service run high. Sunday being Father’s Day, the ivices were planned to suit the day Dr. Adams took for his subject: "Fatherhood and Its Responsibil ity.” At the Evening service the men of the church had charge of the ser ' i e and gave* very Interesting ser vice under tho direction of Dr. Wesley Jones and Mr. I. S. Mc Pherson, The men’s chorus direct ed by Mr, ,1. C. Parker was one of the main features of the evening. The fathers were very successful in their drive. Brothers Thomas II. Goodwin and . S. McPherson lead the groups to surpass what the wo men did on Mother’s Day. St. John is very proud to have about four delegates to go to Mem phis for the great centennial which opened on June 22d. glariy outstanding guests were wor shiping at St. John last Sunday, shiping at St. John last Sunday. We are always glad to see them and invite them to make it their churdh home while in the city. St. Jtohto’s cihoir will have its re gular monthly all request program the fourth Sunday at 7:30 p. m. to whieh all are invited to come and receive a gospel message through song. Phillips, Pastor Services were very good at Bethel all day Sunday. Rev. A. Phillips preached at 11:00 a. m. At 3:00 p. m-, ho preached a wonderful ser mon. Tho A. C. E. League met nt tho usual hour and had a very in teresting discussion. Our lesson for next Sunday is “Recreation and Character." Scrip ture Lesson Col. 1:18, Cor. 10:31. Wo are also planning a social ev ening. Every one is invited. The Country Store, given by the J'unior Stewardess Board was a success. Gates, Pastor Dolly Dixon, Reporter Sunday school opened with a goodly number present. A wonder ful lesson was enjoyed. Mornnig service was opened with a wonderful massage from our pastor whose subject was “God Will Answer Prayer." Quite a number of visitors were present. Visitors are always welcome. Our men rendered a fine program anti made the women proud of them Visitors who took part with us were Mr. Joseph Lewis, Dr. A. L. Haw kins, Mr. Cooper, of Salem, and Rev. Holmes. We are looking for ward to another program from the men in the near future, Evening services were inspiring ones with a message from our pastor whose text was "Watch.” Every soul was filled with spir itual flood. Frederick, Reporter Sunday school opened at the us ual time with a large attendance. At 11:30 a. m-, the pastor brought a splendid message from St. John 0:4, subject, “Work." Our hearts were made to burn within us while ho talked with us by the way. At. 6 p. m. BYPPU was largely attended.The program wus render ed by the Ladies group. At 8:00 p. m. the message was brought by Rev. S. S. Whitetaw, subject “What Is Your Name.” Gen. 28:21. The church in general is pro gressing spiritually, numerically and financially. Much enthusiasm and interest was shown by all. At 11:00 a. m, Rev. Curry •'preached a very inspiring sermon which was enjoyed by all. At 6:30 p. m. BYPU, was opened , with Pres. Crawford presiding. Be cause of the association being in session at Salem Baptist church, the BYPU, had a Union service at Salem at 8:00 p. m. Rev. F. C. Williams preached an inspirational sermon. Rev. M. K. Curry left Sunday night for Raleigh, North Carolina to attend the BYPU and Sunday School Congress. He will be away for about ten days. The Ne,w Era Baptist Association closed another successful session Rev. I,. K.
