receipt of a letter from Mrs. Elsie
Herndon, who recently left the city
to make her home in Detroit, Mich,
stating that she arrived safely and
found “friend husband'' well and
working.
Mr. Calvin Parks, of Bentonville,
Ark., is in the city visiting rela
tives. Mr. Parks expects to be in
the city for two weeks.
Mrs. Hazel Bryant, of Omaha
was a visitos in the city, Tuesday,
May 4th.
Mrs. Gay Recipient of Many Gifts
Mrs- Gay was showered with
gifts on Mother’s Day. Among the
many gifts was a delicious cake
from Mrs. Eula McCulloch, daugh
ter of Chicago, III; cards of greet
ing from Mrs. Maude Simmons,
grand daughter, and Gladys Marie
Dorsey, great grand daughter, both
of this city; and from Mr. J. W.
Gay and wife of Detroit, Michigan,
son, Mr. Cicero Wilkerson who is
a foster son, Mr. T. L. Gray, and
grandson Mrs. Juanita Woods,
daughter of this city.
The cake sent was a present to
both Mr. and Mrs. Gay, as Satur
day was Mr. Gay’s birthday.
