to the Mimic Festival, which was
held in Lawrence. Kan.
At 11 o’clock, the pastor deliver
ed an inspiring sermon which was
woven around the thenie ‘Mother’s
Day.’
The evening worship wa» spent in
reviewing the covenant.
The passing and taking of com
munion closed the evening worship.
Thursday evening from 8 until
10 p- nv, the mothers and daugh
ters of the church are featuring a
Candlelight Tea- Fathers and sons
and the public are invited to this
affair.
The following persons arc on the
sick list: Mesdanies Davidson, Mc
Craty, Winston and Woods- They
all ask an interest in on our pray
ors and a visit does so much to
cheer them up

very beautifully dedicated to Mo
ther. The Trustees of the church
are presenting “An Indian Operetta'
on May 20th at 8:30 p- m
The sick of the church are im
proving. Mother Simpson, who has
been ill for some time, was the re
cipient of a Mother’s Day token
sent to her by the church.

in Omaha. Returning to his home
in Kansas City, M<>. where he was
sick from November 1936 to April
12, 1937. During the time of his
illness he wa* given the best medi
cal can* ut Wheately and Provident
hospitals until his death.
Hi* funeral services were held
in Kansas City at Allen Chapel
AME church, Thursday April 2nd
| where Rev. R. A Adams, pa«tor
j of St. John of Omaha delivered the
funeral oration. Remarks by Bishop
N. W . Williams and many other
outstanding ministers of the city
were included in he service.
The body was then carried to
Tulsa, Oklahoma ^vhere Services
were held Saturday April 17th at
Vernon AME church, and Rev. P.
W. DeLyles p|reached the sermon
Ho was laid to rest in Home
He leaves a devoted Christian
wife, and a host of friends.
