Crockett, of of Kansas City, Mo., is conduct ing a meeting for the Church of God in Christ at 1618 Ave. B. Mr. Horace Goodlow, jr., re turned from Lincoln, Nebr., on Friday night, where he attend1 ed the funeral of hin aunt, Mrs. Ella Black. Mrs. Black was a sister to Mr. Horace Goodlow, Sr. Mrs. Georgia Mina returned Sunday from Lincoln, Nebr. Mrs. Louise Jackson, who was forced to remain off the job be cause of illness, has returned to work. ReT. G. E. Green was the din ner guest of Mr. Ed. Thomas on Sunday, March 14. Mr. Sam Taylor is recovering from a recent spell of sickness. .., Ml Andrew Fitz, jr., will leave very soon for the Oakdale San itarium. Mrs. Boggs, mother of Mrs. Gertrude White, has returned to her home in Marshall, Mo. * Mrs. Win. Brown left Tues day, Mar. 16, for Chicago where she will visit relatives. Mrs. J. H. Spires was defeated, but Turner fought two boys and gained the right to enter the fi nals on Wednesday, Where he lost by a close decision. Now, after ten years, he has carved success in another field. In handl ing his agents, Mr- Gales stresses the fact that a life insurance re presentative is really a public ser vant, helping to promote! thrift, and also building for greater em ployment for the Negro’s own group. Mr. Gales is a general insurance broker, handling all lines as well as a star Victory man. The iSun^lay SchdoJ gave an entertainment Saturday evening and an enjoyable time was had by all. The choir and Sunday School of the A. M. E. Church gave a program and entertain ment on Thursday evening. Mrs. Celesta Wiggins spent a day with her sister, Mrs. Ce cila Beard. Mrs. Wiggins is en route to her home in Red Oak, Iowa, from Maryville, Mo. —— ■ Mrs. Carrie Roberts return ed home after spending the win ter with her daughter in St. Paul, M'innesota. Miss Emeralda McDaniels re turned home from Platte City, Mo., where she has been visit ing her mother who is ill. After the business meeting, dainty refreshments were ser ved by the hostess. Mrs. Ilortense Montgomery who has been seriously ill, is much better at this time. Mr,s.
