His subject was “The Value of Observing Negro History Week.’’ Other speakem of the evening were Mr. Henry Evans, Rev. Cald well, Rev. Og| sby and Rev. Goodwin of Leavenworth. Rev Goodwin's subject was “The History and Work of the Negro Congress.” A solo was rendered by Mr. John Capelton. Mrs. Rosie Jones and Miss Marcella Wright were also on the pro gram. A paper on Lincoln and the Negro was read by Mr. Henry Evans. The usual spirit of interest was shown through out the afternoon. Miss Pullum said we were not born with personality, but by bidding our characters, personality is developed. Sunday was Parent-Junior Day a^ Cleaves’. The morning sermon was directed toward the parents from the scriptures Psalm 78. The night sermon was to the young people. Both ser mons were very spiritual. The Junior church sang through out the day. We are very proud of this group of young people. Make a special visit to Cleaves’ Temple to eneourage these young people as Negro products striving to build up themsel ves. A moBt delghtful evening was spent at the home of Mrs. Eva Mae Hayes, 3715 No. 26th St., last Tuesday evening. R Lane, mis sionary of the Omaha and Council Bluffs District Ass’n., delivered the message Hs subject was “Where is Thy Child?” At 3 p- m-, under the auspices of the Sunday school, A Business Men’s program was ren dered. Those participated were as follows: Rev. Z- E- McGee spoket on Politics and Religion. The Gate way Quartette rendered a selection. Police Commissjoner Jepsen made wholesome remarks. A solo was rendered by Mrs Har ris, from the Salem Baptist church. An instrumental solo was given by Prof- R. W Fouts. Mr.. J.. Lewis spoke dn Business and Religion Remarks were made by others also. At 6 p. m- BYPU was largely at tended- Another lovely program was rendered at 8 p. m. The pastor delivered the manage.
