Many good thoughts week to be taken from the lesson, at 11:30 a. m. the pastor preached r. wonderful sermon. On Sunday night the services were great. The past"r. Elder Green and Elder Horn both preaclw-d on “Come and Let Us Reason Together,’’ Isaiah 1:18. The attendance was very go<>d. On next Sunday at 3:00 p. m. we Will have a rally. Pruitt, Pastor Mrs. W. K. Fredericks, Reporter Sunday school opened at the usual hour, 9:30 a. rn. with quite a num br/ present. At 11:30 the pastor brought oo us a wonderful message, from the fifteenth chapter of St. Luke. His text was, “Father 1 have sinned against Heaven.” His sub ject was, “A Little Talk With Je sus.” Visitors were present. At. 3 p. m. he pastor and church worshipped at the Pleasant Green church. BYPU had a large attendance and a love ly program was rendered. At 8 p.' m. there was another burning mess age. Again a large number of, visitors were present. On Christ-1 mas Eve a wonderful play was spon oied by the program committee. Fifteen children received beautiful gifts aside from candy and nuts. Morning Star is wide awake. Garnett, out Assistant pastor was in charge of the service. Rev. Garnett is a won derful speaker. He spoke briefly from the 23rd Psalms, subject, “Confidence In God.” At 6 o’clock Union Time, the ^resident, Mrs. Crumbley took full dharge of the lesson. We in vite you to come to the Union and hear the volunteer program each Sunday evening at 6 o’clock. Sunday night Rev. John son returned to the city from Kan sas City. He reports a wonderful trij>. A capacity crowd witnessed the j results of careful preparation and practice and acknowledged llhe pro gram as excellent, surpassing all 1 expectations. A short program, by members of the choir and Sunday school assist ed by Miss Whiteside, was render I' d followed by a beautiful play, I entitled “O, Bethlehem.” Bags of candy and nuts were | distributed to Sunday school schol ars and gifts front the tree re ceived. A very pleasant surprise was given the pastor, Rev. H. D. Pigguo and family tdhen a large box of groceries were presented by Marjorie Watts from the member ship. St. .Tanten AME Sunday School St. .Tames AME Sunday school opened at the usual hour with the superintendent, Miss Irma Brannon in charge. Morning worship at 11:00 a. m., with the pastor, Rev. H. D. i Piggue delivering the message. During the nfternoon pastor al calls were made by the pastor. ACE League convened at 6:00 p. m., with M. Ewing, presidnt in dharge. A goodly number were pre sent to discuss the various interest ing toipics. Evening worship at 7:00 p. m., wth Rev. H. D.. Piggue in charge, at which time a powerful gospel message was delivered. Miss Majorie Watts, who has been visiting for some time jn Kan sas City, returned home in time for the holidays. _____ Mrs. Maxie Smith, who has been on the sick list for some time, is better at this writing. Owing to severe cold, little Miss Delores Piggue and mother, daugh ter and wife of Rev. H. D. Piggue, were unable to worship in Fremont Sunday. At this writing, her con dition remains the same. Miss L‘»is Ann Herndon of Oma ha, motored to Fremont on Christ mas Day to spend the holiday with (parents and friends. Rev. H. D. Piggue was the guest' Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. G. Hern don. Frayer Meeting, the foundation of all AME churches, lias been re established by the pastor and will meet Thursday night at 8:00 o’clock at the home of Mrs. W. S. Watts. LINCOLN NEWS Mt. 7i >n Baptist church had a Sunday school program Christmas morning < -inducted by Mrs. Arthur Patrick. The program was a suc cess to the satisfaction of the pas j tor and all hat were present. At the conclusion of the progrem, pre sents were distributed to the child ren. Sunday was a splendid day with Mi. Zion. The pastor. Rev. C II Nicks preached morning and evening to an appreciative number who were in attendance both morn ing and evening. The African Methodist church had an early Christmas breakfast. All the officers of the church and choir members were served fret, but friends and otfher members wh° were present donated $7.50 to the treasure. Christmas morning, Rev. Bell brought to a waiting congregation a great message from the text “He went about doing good.” His subject was “How about you.” Rev Bell stayed with the fun damental truths of the bible, and gave his hearers to distinctly under stand t/hat God gave His only be gotten Son to save people from their Sins. He emphasized the fact, that the gifts given was not to save people in their sins, hut from them. Sundry evening the choir gave a sacred program, Mrs. John John son was the director. This was a splendid pogram. Older S. S. Slights, after 5 years of hard work and sacrifice, esigned his pastoate of the Church of God at 22nd and U St. Sunday after bringing two great messages to his followers. Rev BurcWhardt was called to in dependance, Kas., last week by a telegrah stating his sistr Mrs. Re becca Carter had departed this life Wednesday Dec. 16th in Colorado Springs at the home of her daugh ter, Mrs. Stella Spears where she has made her home eecently. But her remains were shipper to Inde pendence, her old home, for inter ment. Rev. Wisener of the AME church conducted the funeral. Rel atives, and friends were in attend ance from Colo., Okla. and Nebr. Mrs.. Carter leaves to mourn her loss two sons four daughters, one brother, one sister and a large num ber of nieces and nephews. Urban League Christmas Party M. T.
