Neely, Registrar at thie school, was elected president at this meeting PLEASANT GREEN 0 BAPTIST CHURCH Sunday School opened at 9 o’clock. Mrs. «Trene Oliver, sup erintendent. All classes were represented with a large number. Morning services were spiritual and timely. The rally, Dec. 22nd, which was sponsored by the assistant pastor, Rev. E. E. Wilhite, for the Pastor’s Aid. was a decided suc cess. Thirteen Ministers were present with their captains. Mrs. E. E. Wilhite and her minister, Rev. Thornton, received the five dollar prize. Mrs. Lillian Haw thorn is president. The B. Y. P. U. opened with Mr. E. Collier on time. Several visitors were present. Miss Bessie Lee Taylor had charge of the program. Rev. E. E. Wilhite, assistant t pastor, preached at the evening service. Subject: “The Devil and Tom Walker.” Another rally sponsored by the Rev. E. E. Wil hite for the “Pick Up Club” last Sunday afternoon “An Angel Rally.” This was a wonderful rally financially. Mrs. Manvie Mc Intosh is president. Mrs. George Mitchell, 2508 Parker street, entertained several guests at her home Christmas day in honor of her husband’s birth day. Many lovely and useful presents were received by Mr. Mitchell. Tho Mitchells are planning to spend the New Year day with Mrs. Mitchell’s brother in Des Moines. tTowa. The musical tea given by the, Sunday Night Musical Club was a unique affair. Approximately 350 people attended. Mrs. Irene Morton was mistress of ceremony. Selections were rendered by the mixed chorus, and all ladies chorus, a duet by Mrs. Irene Morton and Mrs. Venus Starnes, a solo by William Davis. The president of the club, Mrs. Delores Blackwell, was introduced by the mistress of ceremony, and she in turn introduced the other officers. Rev. J. S. Williams is the director of this fine group of tal ented people, and Mr. Preston is assistant director. The ‘Y’ building was beautifully decorated in the season’s colors. The table was adorned with all the dainties and delicacies appropri ate for an affair of this kind. Mrs. J. L. Steele of Kansas City, Mo., is the house guest of Mr. and Mrs. I. Carey, 2302 N. 27th street for the holidays. Mrs. Steele has been a friend of the family for years. Among the many home-comers arriving for the holiday season were: Miss Albertine Jhonson, former secretary at the Y. W. C. A., once of Omaha, now of New York; Miss Asilee Dotson, who is studying the nurse preparatory course in Kansas City; Mr. Carl ton Goodlett, student at the Uni versity of Southern California, and graduate of Howard Univers ity; Mr. John C. Williams, stu dent at the Nebraska University in Lincoln; Messrs Eugene Skin- j ner and Edward Wiggins, both of •Towa University and Mr. Robert Coulson, C. C. Damaby is the permanent alumni secretary In Dallas, Texas. Miss Anderson is a student at Bishop college. Miss Lela Johnson, of Lincoln, Nebraska, was the guest of Miss Nadyne Clark over Xmas. Miss Johnson is very prominent in church affairs of that city. She is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Johnson. Mr. J. R. Lillard, of Kansas City, and a student at the Ne braska University, spent the week end with Mr. John C. Williams, and Mr. Carlton Goodlett, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Good lett, 2803 Binney.
