They quickly drop to 10 to 1 when a well-known gambler bets on the horse,
so that the odds on his own horse will lengthen. But “Bill” is attached
for a f ed bill. The gambler, desperate, frees the horse and the race is on.
Clarence Muse, noted negro actor, who plays Whitey in “Broadway Bill,” is
a well known composer. Among his songs are “Sle. py Time Down South,”
‘A New Day Down South,’ ‘I go Congo’ and many others.
