Jones—Pastor This church is attempting to add the first floor to the basement which was built nine years ago at an es timate cost of $10,000. Because of the repair which was compelled to make on the basement if they con tinned to use it, they felt it wise to raise the walls and place permanent roof, which in the end, would be a saving of several hundred dollars. The work began Jun 18with Mr. C. A. Cone as architect. During the process of construction about 40 men of different trades will be employed. The normal seatng will be 300, max imum 506. A suggestion of Colonial Period in entrane and on Interior has been made but no attempt to follow any style or period. The base of red cobble stones woven together in upper wall with a feld of common brick to obtain a frank expression of basic materials in an interesting play of light and shadow, pattern and texture. The ! wood trim will be painted white and th.- hip roof will be covered with com position roofing. The lawn on the sides and front are to be carefully landscaped to bring out natural in terest and attraction of site and build ing. With the completion of 3 weeks work, the main walls of th.- build ing have been erected to their desir ed height, and one stage of the pro gram already complet.d. Work will continue with the construction of the : :toof, the interior will be carried on later. The spiiit of the church :s at a high tide through all of its de- , partments.
