I Kings 8:1-9 After a short business meeting, the president introduced the principal speaker of the evening, Mrs- Nath aniel H- Jeltz of Michigan- Mrs Jeltz. gave a very interesting lecture on ‘Tempa jance’ which, according to her Christian definition, means, Self Controle- She advised you to be mod erate in eating as well as drinking, and told about the things a Christian should avoid; which, briefly speaking, are. Narcotics, Dirt eating, Starch Eating, Cough-Drops, Gum Chewing, Nicotine, (Smoking) Snuff Using, Tobacco, Alcohol, in every form The use of ail, or any of these, are detrimental to the body; but alcohol, is by far the worst, because it de stroys God’s Temple And Sad to say, it is more easily obtained today than ever- Because some of our—supposed to be—Christ ian leaders have failed God The Blood of Jesus Christ is the only thing to cleanse us of all evil, and sin; let Jesus ijule and reign in our lives- To do God’s will, we that j are Christians and leaders, must keep , pure and Holy and unspotted from the world. “Be not ye therefore par takers with them-” Eph- 5:7 She also said that some of the ‘So called Christians’ »:*e drinking and doing every evil- My dears, this is wrong- The only thing that will bring temperance the world over is to let Jesus come into our lives and dwell there- Let each of us examine our selves. and clean up; let your light shine, and you ‘so called' Christians get out of the way of the sinners. Remember, Christ is coming again, and he may be coming soon- Let’s get cleaned up, and be ready when he comes Mrs- Anna Burton responded to Mrs- Jails, with a continued advice to the Christians, “Rdmember, God doesn’t dwell in an unclean Temple ” All were delighted with the pre sence of Mis. P. Heard of Ohio. He preached many a soul stir ring sermons and many souls are be ing saved in this big tent Revival. The meeting will continue in the big tent at 2025 North 24h St eve -y night. Mrs. Lillie Oliver Dies Mrs- Lillie Oliver, a member of the Freestone Baptist Church died Sat urday, June 16th, 1934, the funeral services were held at the FtUestone Baptist Church, Wednesday June 20, where she was a member for a num ber of years. Surviving is her husband, Mr- D D- Oliver and nine children, Mrs Paul Grice, Mrs- Earl Smith of Chi cago, Mrs- A- D. Oliver, Mr- Lemuel Oliver from Arkansas City, Kansas.
