John H. Paynter, author (“Fugitives
of the Pearl”) of Wjashington, D. C.
has a letter to the editor in my be,
half, and while I haven’t space to
quote it verbatum. here is one para,

“I do not know Mr. Mitehll nor do
I know for what infringement of the
law he is now confined, but there
breathes through his articles that
spirit of altruism, of service, of race
loyalty and the spiritual ideals of pa
triotism that might assuredly be made
more effective if he could be freed
from the smothering confines of pris
on walls and enabled freely to devote
his God-given talents to the progress
and elevation of his race and the en
thronement of justice and equality
throughout our well-loved America.”

“YOUNGEST MENTALIST ON THE AMERICAN STAGE”
R. B. S.—We have a do? ai home of
which we are very fond, lately he ap
pears to act strangely. Can you tell
me what is wrong?
Ans: I feel confident in predicting
that the dog is going blind and that
is the indirect cause of its queer ac
tions.
M. C.—Is my friend quilty of the of
fense I accused him of?
Ans: Certainly not. Y ou had no right
to make any statement pertaining to
such a thing. You will learn through
another source that you were wrong
about this matter.

R. S.—Why does my husband stay
out nights, what does he do and .
where does he stay?
Ans: I am sorry to disappoint you but
your husband is not running around
with other women. It seems as
though he is connected with men in
terested in gambling. He still loves
you and will continue to do so,
L. B. M.—Please tell me if my luck
will change for the better and when?
Ans: The last six months of this year
will be much more profitable to you I
than the first six months. I see you
prospering financially with the com
ing of the warm weather.
E. M. L.—Do you think I will have
another child soon, or is there any
more for me?
Ans: Not for some time, but there
are several mdre coming; so keep up
the good work.
V. D.—Will I ever get steady work?
Ans: It appears to me as though you
will be lucky in contacting a decent
job before summer. I think real beer
will have something to do with your
getting a job.
F. W. —Will I ever be the father of
any children?
Ans: I cannot determine whether you
will be the father of any children or
not, although I see your wife having
several.
B. H.—What became of my hair
grease, and did the boy who was
coming to see me go home because
his mother was sick or for some other
reason ?
Ans: I think the young man who left
because of his sick mother also left
with your hair grease. He admired
the delicate odor. Why not chalk it
up to “good riddance.”
H- J.—Can you tell me how I can pre
vent children as my family is too
large. I canot give them the necess
ary training and education.
Ans: This is a very personal question
and ordinarily I would not answer it
thru the papers however I will give
you some frank advice. I cannot give
you the necessary information be
cause it conflicts with the federal
laws. If you will visit one of the
down town furniture stores you will
find they are running a sale on twin
beds. I suggest that you use them.
S. R.—I am a married man with a
wife and two children whom I adore.
Recently I fell madly in love with a
young lady whom I work with and
she wants me for her own. She
threatened to kill herself if I don’t
marry her and leave my wife and
childreh. What would you advise?
Ans: Let her kill herself. Any worn
