A group of prominent citizens met and temporarily estab- ■ lished an Urban League. Mr. M illard Woods was elected temporary chair man and Mrs. Florence Blooah was elected temporary secretary. Mr. Millard Woods is a young man of splendid character, born and raised in Lincoln, graduated from the Lincoln This participation has done much to stimulate interest on the part of householders to beautify certain neighborhoods, according to J. Harvey Kerns, Executive Sec’y. of the Omaha Urban League. The plans outlined Wednesday evening called for block captains in every neighborhood to see that some improvements were made on each yard project. The Committee will also interest itself in ridding the community of delapidated shacks and will put forth special efforts to have painting and cleaning done by house holders.
