Tho defendants, Orellas A, Herring
and Mrs. M. H. Herring, hi wife, will
take notice that on the 5th day of
December, 1905, that George A. Adams
and George W. Berge filed their peti
tion In the District Court of Lancaster
County, Nebraska, against Orellas A.
Herring and Mrs. M. H. Herring, his
wife, to recover the sum of Four hun
dred ($400) dollars, a balance due the
plaintiffs from the defendants for pro
fessional services rendered the de
fendants in certain litigation In the
District Court of Lancaster County,
Nebraska, and in the Supreme Court
of Nebraska, under a verbal contract
by which the plaintiffs were to receive
the reasonable value of their services
to be rendered - Said petition alleges
that all of said professional services
were rendered upon special instance
and request of the defendants ; that
said-services performed were reason
ably of the value of Four hundred
fifty ($450) dollars and that defend
ants have paid the plaintiffs the sum
of Fifty ($50) dollars, leaving a bal
ance due of Four hundred ($400) dol
lars, for which sum with Interest at
the rate of seven (7 per cent) per cent
from the 5th day of December, 1905,
plaintiffs ask judgment and the costs
of suit. . ,
Defendants will further take notice
that on the 5th day of December, 1905,
at the time of the filing of the petition
In said cause, -they filed an affidavit
stating that the defendants, Orellas
A. Herring and Mrs. M. H. Herring,
his wife, were non-residents of the
state of Nebraska, and that service
of summons could not be had upon
them and that they were absent from
the state and that defendants were
owners of real estate In Lancaster
County, Nebraska, subject to attach
ment and that they had no personal
property In the State of Nebraska;
that thereupon an attachment was
duly issued and the sheriff of Lan
caster County, Nebraska, attached, as
provided by law, lot nine (9), block
three (3), in South Park Addition to
Lincoln, Lancaster County, Nebraska,
and said property is now held by the
sheriff by virtue of said attachment;
that the same will be sold according
to law to satisfy amount due plain
tiffs from defendants.
You are required to answer said
petition on. or before, tho 22nd day of
January, 1906.

date of November 8th. 1903, made
by the treasurer of said county to one
Chas. Hammond covering lots five
(5) and six (6) in block nine (9) of
Hillsdale addition to the city of Lin
coln, Lancaster county, Nebraska, for
the delinquent county taxes of 1901
and the delinquent county and city
taxes of 1902, which certificates were
on the 20th day of April, 1905, sold
