r THE WAGEW0K15E P An Independent Newspaper Devoted to Sunshine and Good Cheer. Without Malice and Without a Muzzle Volume 7 LINCOLN, NEBRASKA. DECEMBER 30, 1910 Numberf NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS RESOLVED, That on every possible occasion I will boost for my home town and for my home state, and turn the cold shoulders to all "knockers" and ''hammermen, That I will, whenever possible, purchase goods made in Nebraska by Nebraska wage earners. That I will give my insurance business to the reliable insurance companies organized in Nebraska by Nebraska citizens, and assist them in building up our own state instead of sending our millions to build up other communities in other states. That I will endeavor to acquaint myself with Nebraska's resources and possibilities, to the end that I may be able to tell the real facts to all people with whom I come in contact That I will resent all unwarranted attacks upon my city and my state made by those who are disgruntled and "sore" because things are not run loose enough to suit their ideas of "personal liberty." That I will lend my assistance to every effort to make Lincoln a bigger and better city, and Nebraska a greater and grander state. That I will strive for civic righteousness, municipal progress and cleaner politics, refusing to be bound by party ties to the extent of voting for men I know to be unfit for offices of public trust That I will look upon the bright side, be optimistic instead of pessimistic, and always ready to lend a helping hand. That when I find it impossible to honestly speak well of my fellow citizens I will endeavor to remain silent, speaking only when in my own heart I feel . that it is my duty to the public to make the facts known. That envy, jealousy, spite and personal grudge will not sway me in my actions as a citizen. That I will strive at all times, everywhere, to conduct myself as to reflect credit upon myself, my family, my city, my state and my country. That if the New Year is not one of progress it will be through no lack of effort on my part To all of which I pledge my word as a citizen.
