Those persons that left Nebraska, some
lime ago, fur the east, to esc pe, as they
supposed, the rigors of an Arctic w'nter,
we judge, must now consider themselves
sold. While in portions of the east, the
mercury has gone as low as 22 de
grees below tero, it has not here (roue be
hw but once, and then only five degrees.
Such extremely mild and beautiful weath
er, at this season of the year, it has not
been our pood fortune to experience be
fore. If this is an average of Nebraska
winters, we shall say, girt us Nebraska,
now and forever.

the difficulty is nearly constitutional, and
almost pa t reme ly. Nearly every week
we receive ktit-r from some one of our

recrive the Gazette. ' We have always
been very particular in making up . our

se!d.un mode a mistake. Where the
fault lies, we are unable to say, but we do
know that we hove bo. ne this till forbear

it time for ref nn. If there wns nn
Agent appointed, who would take a little
pains to tystctnize our mail arrange

ritidii2 in this ' western country. Let
some thorough goinir man be' appointed
who is a resident of Nebraska, and with
out doubt, our mails would be greatly fa
cilitated. While in Omaha, last week, we had
the pleasure of ex mining the different
specimens of Meluiueotypes, taken by
J. A Todd, on Harney Street, over Or

east of the Douglas House. Some of
the specimens that we examined, were
superior to any that we have seen in the

they can have their wishes gratified
