A few evenings since, as we happened

. A Laboe Yield. Mr. II. II. Smith,
raised on his farm in this County, the
past season, 330 bushels of potatoes, from
four bushels of seed. They are of the
black neshannock variety. We call this
a large yield. Who can beat it f

QuickTime. A copy of the Congress
ional Globe, mailed in Washington, D. C.
in May 1856, was received at the Post
Office in this city, Dec. 8ih, 18.57.
We are glad to see a disposition mani
fested, in Omaha, by its citizens, to sus
tain the scrip issued by the Common Coun
cil, several months since. At an election
held last Saturday, in relation to this
matter, 599 votes were cast in favor, and
46 against it.
, Judge Wakeley's lecture in Omaha, was
postponed to last Monday evening.
-i Thomas Killiaa was stabbed, at an Irish
break-down, a week ago last Saturday
veniiij, in Omaha, and has since died.
lwo men have been arrested, ana are
now confined for perpetrating the brutal
deed.
A house belomring to Gen. Robertson,
situated in Decatur, was burned on Satur
day evening last.

f, Whereas, T. H. Robertson, Esq., the
ostensible and reputed Editor of the (Jma
ha Nebraskian, was on the 16th day of
December, int , by resolution of the
Council, admitted to a seat on the floor,
as reporter of said Nebraskian; and
whereas, the said T. II. Robertson, per
jnitlcd or procured the publication in said
Nebraskian, of date December 23d inst.,
of a scurrilous article under the head cf
editorial, in which the motives of mem
bers of the Council are impugned, and
much personal abuse and vulgar slang ap
plied io them by name, which is unjust
uncenllemanly, and untrue. Therefore
be it
Resolved, By the Con nnl, that the said
'.T. II. Robertson, has abused his privilege
.of Repartee, of the proceedings of the
Council, and forfeited all right to his seat
as such.
V. Retolvtd. That the said T. II. Robert
ioo, be, and he is hereby expelled from
jhis seat as reporter.
