After the business hour, Mrs. Joseph
F. Barton entertained the cluh with
u group of original short stories. The
first story, entitled "tine White Lie,"
is now ready for the publishers, after
having been favorably passed on by a
number of literary critics. Other
stories read by Airs. Barton were
“Her Day" and two humorous dialect
stories.
Mother Goose tost nine Party.
Members of Narcissus chapter of
the O 12. H. kensington will put on a
Mother Goose costume party at the
Nebraska Children’s Home Tuesday
evening, April 34, Miss Ethel Allen,

The members of Airs. W. L. Pear
son’s group of Campfire girls en
joyed a hike out west Blondo street
Tuesday. A hot luncheon, prepared
by the girls was relished after their
brisk walk.

Old Faces Return to
Screen in New Film
"The Code of the West," showing at
the Rialto theater for a week start
ing Saturday, brings two faces that
have been absent for some time on
Omaha screens* One is Owen Moore,
and (lie other Mabel -Beilin. Mrs. Bal
lin appeared in many prominent pro
ductions a few years ago. She worked
for IS dhcolors prior to the time
when Mr, liallin. 7> well-known artist
formed his own producing organi/a
tlon.
Some of their productions were
“Gasp Gynne,” "Jane Gyre" and
Thackeray's “Vanity Fair." Mrs. Bul
11 n has the role of Mary Stock well in
the film. Constance Be nnett, who will
he remembered for her work in "The
Goose Hangs High,” the “Tnke-a
Chance” we'-k film at the Strand two
weeks ago, has the leading feminine
role.

of Columbia officials Is being turned
to Omaha. Colonel Sherrill, head of
the rocewltm department of the Dis
trict government,

lish a swimming pool which will he
sanitary and healthful In every way
and have been Investigating the swim
ming pool at Krug park, Omaha. In
Huntfay’s Star there was a picture of
the Krug park swimming pool and a
description of its purification appara
tus and how the pool la conducted.
Colonel Sherrill lias pronounced him
self as being highly favorable to tho
establishment of a similar pool In
Washington.
Congressman Willis G. gears has
returned to Omaha and Is planning
to establish an office In the Omaha
Xatlonul hank building. The AVasli
