Sid Terris Beats
Lew Paluso
NKW YORK, March 26.—Sid Ter
ris, pride of lhe east side, tech
nically had gained one notch
of ills climb back toward lightweight
honors today by the decision he was
given over Lew Paluso of Salt Rake
City last night, a verdict which met
much popular disapproval.
Paluso was cheered wildly when he
left the ring, while TenAs was only
mildly acclaimed. One critic gave
Paluso the second, third, fourth, fifth,
eighth and ninth rounds, but the
judges evidently ljked Terris' fast fin
ish and gave him the decision on it.
Paluso is a contender in the light
weight elimination contests.

Huggins of the Yankees is
not satisfied with his pitch

'rail of two promising minor
league hoxmen. This little
news item leaked out last
night while New

packing up pre

One of the de

said, Is now with

Kinston in the 'Virginia league, to
Buffalo, is thought to he the first

The other minor league curve
artist sought is thought .to he on
Hie payroll of a Southern associa

surrounded all the dicKerings for
him.
The faet of the matter is that
lluggins is not at all assurred that

pitching staff to come through in
tile manner he had ho|ied. Sam
Jones, Boh SliawKey and Waite
lloyt are the uncertain quantities,
and if one or two of these s^yuld
go badly, away would fly all hopes
of the championship flag.
The ‘rookie’* pitching crop this
spring was a complete disappoint
