Vartanian, professor of religious education and moral philoso phy in the University of Omaha, spoke at last night's session on the progress of Christianity during the first century. "They used the intensive method in their work,” he sold. "First, they converted Jerusalem and then Jude# and Samaria. “They waited for the necessary spiritual equipment which was sent to them at Pentecost, when they saw the great accessions of ronverts. At that time, Peter, who had denied his Master at the time of the crucifixion, was filled with the holy spirit. Peter became the great leader in the evan gelizntion of Jerusalem and Judea. Paul, who was on his way to Damaa rus, was smitten with the holy spirit and converted and became the great leader in the spread of the gospel to far lands.” Margaret Ellen Brown of T,incoln, state secretary of the Nebraska coun for Christian education, gave a rf^Uereopticon address in the evening.
