Walter Hamill, clerk, had Just opened tip the United Cigar store In the Kialto theater building at 7 this morning when a young negro entered. "Gimme a package of clgarets," said the customer. Hamill deftly reached for the clg arets and tossed them on the counter. The customer threw the money on the counter. Hamill clicked upon the register and looked up to see the muzzle of a large blue steel revolver pointing at him. "Stand back and don't make no noise or I'll blow your block off," was the command. The holdup man slipped back of the counter and scooped bills and coins Into his pockets to the total amount of {160. People were passing on the busy street right outside the door while this was going on. "Now, I’m going to stand right outside the door for 3 0 minutes and if you telephone or show your head I’ll blow It off," threatened tha man as he left. Hamill called police. Detectives Farmer, Davis, Kruger, Nelson and Trapp with other officers hurried to the scene but could find no trace of the robber.
