Night.
Temporary offices of the Omaha
Safety Council will he opened Mon
day morning at 11" South Sixteenth
street. Harry Wolf of the H. A. Wolf
company has donated the room tem
porarily.
The organization committee, con
sisting of S. A. Houser, chairman: S.
S. Kent, C. E. Foster, R. A. Leussier,
F. T. B. Martin, A. IL Waugh and
II. E. Dickinson, met Friday and
nominated a hoard of control of 63
men and women, representing 65
groups of business and civic activi
ties. The nominees’ names are to he
-presented to a mass meeting at the
city hall council chamber Wednesday
evening at 8.
Bylaws were drawn up at Friday's
meeting and wdll be recommended for
adoption Wednesday night. President,
first vice president, second vice presi
dent, third vice president, treasurer
and secretary-manager will he elected.
An executive committee of 15, chosen
from the hoard of control, will be
elected by the board. The executive
committee will have active direction
of the work.
Standing committees will he ap
pointed by the new president as fol
lows: Statistics, children's activities,
publicity, traffic planning, motor
transportation, legislation and en
forcement, speakers and meetings,
steam railroad, women's committee,
Industrial, fire prevention, member
ship and finance.

nesday night's meeting.

ON SAFETY BOARD
Harry A. Adams, 3105 Dewey ave
nue, assistant to the general man
ager of the Union Pacific railroad,
has been appointed to the executive
committee of the National Safety
council, according to a telegram re
ceived Saturday morning by George
Carey, one of the organizers of the
Omaha Safety council.
The appointment was announced
at Louisville, Ky., at the national
convention from which Mr. Carey
has just returned.
Mr. Adams Is in charge of safety
work at the Union Pacific, and has
been active In the organization of the
local safety council.

Omaha Association of Credit Men at
the Chamber of Commerce Thursday
evening. According to the secretary,
any speaker who talks beyond his al
lotted time, will be cut off in the
middle of a sentence.
The schedule is as follows;
Six p. m., food: 6:30 p. m., songs by
Harry Christensen, tenor; 6:45 p. m.,
community singing; 6:55 p. m., talk
by James Cunningham, president: 7
p. m., talk by Bert Wilcox; 7:20 p. m.,
address by Frank E. Helvey; 8:30 p.
m., dismissal.
Mr. Helvey, who is publicity direc
tor for the Insurance Federation of
Nebraska, will speak on fire preven
tion week. Mr. Wilcox will tell of the
meeting of the directors of the Na
tional Credit association at Atlantic
City.

Woman, 75, Is Feted.
Mrs. Mary Johnson, 6212 I,ake
street, was feted by 26 members of
the George If. Custer Women’s Re
lief corps Friday in honor of the 75th
anniversary of her birth. Songs were
sung, games were played and a sur
prise lunch was served by the visi
tors.
