Reception of 1 s G. 0. P. Caravan! Here Planned Sliotwell Names Reception ! Committee; Caravan Ex pected to Arrive Next Thursday Afternoon. The CoollrtsteDawes automobile caravan, which Is traversing the Lincoln highway across the conti nent, will arrive In Omaha late next Thursday Instead of Wednesday as heretofore expected, according to a telegram received by Chairman Oscar Kngler of the republican central com mittee. Abel V. Shotwell, president of the i 'oolidge league of Nebraska, has been appointed chairman of a recep lion committee of several hundred men and women. Itoss Shotwell will meet the cara van at Missouri Valley and pilot It in Omaha. Members of the reception committee will meet the caravan at the west end of the Douglas street bridge. They are requested to have their automobiles decorated for the occasion. Arrangements are being made for a mass meeting Thursday evening. Other plana for Omaha are being worked out and will be announced. A. W. Jefferis, former congress man from Omaha, Is in charge of the tour. g. Committee Named. Several of the sneakers In the cara \an are from Plymouth, Vt., the president’s home town. Talbot, 4506 South Twenty-second street, returned Fri day from Jacksonville, Fla., where she attended the International con vention of the I. O. O. F. lodge. At the close of the convention Mrs. Talbot with Mrs. John Musaer of Rushvllle, Neb., visited Havana, Cuba. The Nebraska delegation w’ere among five who traveled farthest to the meeting. Mrs. Musser Is president of the Nebraska auxiliary of the » hapter and Mm. Talbot Is secretary. During their stay in Havana, they studied economic conditions In the Island city. Smith, who died while visiting friends at Boons, la., Tuesday. Mrs. Ware's body was cremated at Forest I.awn cemetery, Omaha, Thursday, following funeral services in Council Bluffs. Members of her family said yesterday that her wish probably would be denied and that her remains would lie placed in a crypt at the cemetery. They refused to further discuss terms of the will. Nieces and a nephew of Mrs. Ware, who died a widow, are named as prin cipal beneficiaries of her estate. They are: Bottle Smith, Ingleetta Smith. Alice Chase and Douglas Smith, who is connected with the legal depart ment of the Union Pacific railroad at Omaha. Tho woman's will directs that the sum of $1.00 he placed on deposit for Janet Ruth and Robert Bduce, chil dren of Dwight K. Hesse, employe of the Council Bluffs Savings bank, who was a close friend of Mrs. Ware. The money is to be left on deposit and accumulate interest until the children reach the age of 21. Dr. Mary Tinley, Mrs. Ware's physician, was given a $100 share of the estate. Douglas Smith and the Council Bluffs Savings bank were appointed executors without bond. The docu ment was signed Juiy 1 of tills >ear. Creighton Opens Business Course l \piling Classes Organized by University Extension Division. Kvening courses in business will be jpened Wednesday. October 1. by the extension division of Creighton uni versity, it was announced Saturday. Group programs in accounting, busi ness instruction for professional men and 84 single subjects are included In the curriculum for the business courses. The evening classes form only one department of the work which will be carried on by the recently organized extension division of the university. A correspondence study department will be started February 1, and spe cial classes and short courses will be organized at any time and place to fit the needs of special groups, if a sufficient number of people will enter such courses. Sept. 2*.—When the Gulf Fisheries three-masted schooner Areas sails out of the chan nel to the gulf here within the next .10 days the old era of the fishing schooner will have passed, and for the first time a fishing boat will enter the Gulf of Mexico equipped with radio apparatus and power other than Its sails. The entire fleet of the Fisheries company here is being equipped with radio sets and gasoline power engines, the firs' company to make such im provements along the entire gulf.
