two hirdies, before the Hastings wo

before a 3 and 2 count, shows the
very intensity of the match.
Driving and brassie shots, always
the strong forte of the champion,
were matched time and again by the
Hastings player. An artuat tab on

While Mrs Goodrich wan off her

W ooden Shots Tell.
The powerful wooden allots of Mrs.

when she collected the first four

The precipitate beginning of Mrs.

Such popularity must
be deserved
WHETHER it’s tennis or cigarettes
or anything else, popularity is no
Rtrokc of luck, no kindly twist of fate.
No champion ever held his laurels
except by making good. No ciga
rette ever held popular favor except
by deserving it.
The popularity of Chesterfields is
an outstanding example. For months
now Chesterfields have been draw
ing over 1000 smokers a day away
from other cigarettes.
Surely this is convincing proof of
their quality and good taste.
